Daily Bread - “His godly lovers triumph in the glory of God, and their joyful praises will rise even while others sleep. God’s high and holy praises fill their mouths, for their shouted praises are their weapons of war! These warring weapons will bring vengeance on the nations and every resistant power— to bind kings with chains and rulers with iron shackles. Praise-filled warriors will enforce the judgment decreed against their enemies. This is the honor he gives to all his godly lovers. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!” (‭‭Ps.‬ ‭149‬:‭5‬-‭9‬ ‭TPT‬‬). Praising God is a mighty weapon that binds the spirits that attempt to work through people and paralyzes them. We praise with faith from God’s love in our heart. When our motives are pure, our praise can also set captives free from the enemy’s grip. Wow!‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Daily Bread – Here’s the sister verse to Matthew 21:16. “Yahweh, our Sovereign God, your glory streams from the heavens above, filling the earth with the majesty of your name! People everywhere see your splendor. You have built a stronghold by the songs of children. Strength rises up with the chorus of infants. This kind of praise has power to shut Satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you” (Psalms‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭TPT). Notice this kind of praise shuts the mouth of the enemy, the accuser of the brethren. Praise keeps our faith and dependence focused on Almighty God. Praise is a sweatless way to fight and stay encouraged in the Lord.

Daily Bread – The devil wants your praise and worship more than anything. He used bribery as a temptation to get Jesus to worship him. But Jesus responded, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve’” (Luke 4:5-8). The devil deserves zero praise, zero worship, zero attention, zero credit. So, drain that cup and don’t talk about all the forever loser has tried to do in your life or the times he seemingly got the upper hand. Instead, use your words to fill the God glass by giving all the praise, all the worship, all the attention, credit, and honor to the Almighty Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. That’s faith talk that defeats the enemy every time and turns lives around.

Daily Bread - “And the blind and the lame came to him [Jesus] in the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David!’ they were indignant, and they said to him, ‘Do you hear what these are saying?’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise?’” (Matt. 21:14-16 ESV). One commentary says “prepared praise” means “established a power” (weapon). Like children, let’s be tender toward God and not hard hearted and envious like the chief priests and scribes. Render all praise to your God!

Daily Bread – We’re identifying who or what we praise and worship. Are you taking possession of the curse saying, “my memory is getting worse, my arthritis is debilitating, my finances are a mess, I can’t do anything right, I’m so weak...” If so, then what began as an unresisted temptation becomes a part of your life. In this case you are filling the enemy’s cup. If this describes you, make a change and repent. Come back to the abundant life and plan that Jesus made available for you. Offer Him extravagant praise and worship for He is worthy of all of it. Pick up your spiritual weapons, return to the battle, and take back the ground you lost. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Prov. 3:5-6).

Daily Bread – Praise is the next weapon in our arsenal that we can use daily to defeat the kingdom of darkness. The source of true praise and worship comes from a pure heart acknowledging and giving credit to God for what He’s done, the greatness of who He is, and specifically who He is to us. Words are one indicator that show what or who we are praising and worshiping. Imagine you have one glass labeled “my praise to God”, and a second labeled “my praise to the devil.” You may say, I only praise God, not the devil. Well, are you voicing and giving the devil credit for things that steal, kill, or destroy your life? Or are you praising God and using the mighty weapons of God to resist, run off, and overcome the enemy? Which glass is filled the highest? To be continued.

In response to God’s love, mercy, and grace that saved him, he says, “I give You my heart.” Our heart, whole being, and life is what God is looking for from us too. Jesus quoted God’s commandment saying, “Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you” (Matt. 22:37 TPT).

Daily Bread - How is living an all-in life in God a weapon against the enemy? When you are on the right path and place in the battle following orders from Jesus, you are victorious! It doesn’t matter which way the enemy turns or what he tries, for his access is cut off from those following and obeying Jesus. The shield of faith quenches each of his fiery darts. The sword of the Spirit lands its mark each time. Again and again, the enemy will experience frustration and defeat as you walk in faith and love. So, today make the devil and his bunch wish again that they had never crucified the Lord of glory. If you haven’t yet committed your all to God, or if you’ve gotten lazy with your commitment to Him, change that today. Make every day a “Yes, Lord!” day.
