Daily Bread - We’re first introduced to authority in Genesis. On the day God created Adam and Eve, He gave them authority and dominion over the earth. He told them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over…” (Gen. 1:28). Psalm 8:4-8 also says, “You have made him [man] to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet.” Then God directed the man to tend, keep, guard, and protect the garden (Gen. 2:15). God gave them full authority and dominion to rule over their habitation. He equipped them with everything needed to maintain their rulership and to run any challenger out. Unfortunately, they chose wrongly and failed the test.

Daily Bread - If we don’t want to be deceived or fall away from faith in Jesus Christ like First Timothy 4:1-2 says, we must know and be skillful in the truth and all that God has provided for our success. The truth we know and utilize protects us from the false. The place we’re at on God’s timeline demands that we grow up and use our own faith in God. Relying on the faith of others will no longer work. We must have our own personal, living connection with God instead of a distant relationship. And to successfully run and win our life-in-God race, we must walk in the highest level of spiritual authority that God has delegated to every believer. I sense an urgency to revisit the authority of the believer with the mindset that we will make a quality decision to obey the Word and exercise our God-given authority. So, before we go on to other spiritual weapons at our disposal, let’s jump back into this subject.

Daily Bread - The Bible says we are living in perilous days of deception, false prophets, and false teachers. “The Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Tim. 4:1-2). Just because we possess something doesn’t mean that we effectively use and benefit from it. We can have food, but if we don’t eat that food, we can die. We each have a measure of faith. Yet if we don’t live by and walk in faith, we won’t live overcoming lives. If we don’t value the Word of truth and the Spirit of Truth, we’ll miss God’s best, be misled, and fall into the enemy’s traps. To be continued

Daily Bread - We’ve talked about a few weapons God gave us to use against our spiritual enemies. Here’s a review. *The Name of Jesus *The Blood of Jesus and our Covenant *The Word of our Testimony *Loving not our life to the death; i.e., fully committed and dedicated *Praise, *Joy; *Offensive weapons of God’s armor **Faith **the Sword of the Spirit **our Prayers for the saints. As you’ve skillfully used these weapons, you’ve kept the enemy beneath your feet, seen more victories, and lived a more God honoring life. If needed, review the posts about these spiritual weapons and examine whether you are effectively utilizing all of them. Privately text me if you want a copy of any of the areas listed above along with your email address.

Daily Bread - One last song to get you fired up with joy. Joy is a Weapon by Jesus in my City Worship. https://youtu.be/KnPypccrvSI

Daily Bread - This song by Phil Wickham, House of the Lord, says there is joy in the house of the Lord. Hebrews 3:6 says we are Christ’s house. First Corinthians 3:16 says we are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in us. We aren’t trying to get joy; His joy is already in us waiting to be released. Give voice to this joy and bless the Lord. https://youtu.be/IqfV0zeEvT8

Daily Bread - Here’s a spin on an old Sunday school song – I’ve Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy, Down in My Heart. This was written in 1925 by George William Cooke.

Daily Bread - An anointed joy nugget from a broadcast with Kenneth Copeland and Phil Driscoll. Faith is a force, a force that requires expression, a force that must be released in order to experience the power it contains. You can sit in silence and believe all day long. But silence will never move anything, let alone change your world or your battle. Thoughts alone do not shift atmospheres; intentions do not change outcomes. There has to be a release; there has to be a sound; there has to be a propelling force. That’s why we lift up our voice; that’s why we make a joyful noise, because that joyful noise propels us into the arena of joy. https://www.kcm.org/watch/casting-down-imaginations-through-the-sound-of-faith/

Daily Bread - Why does the devil care about whether or not you live in the joy of the Lord? Because he knows that if he can get you to let joy go, he will gain an advantage over you. He would much rather you be down, depressed, with a dismal outlook on life so you are easy pickings for him. Don’t yield to him for one second! If your joy has waned and some of your goods are in the devil’s hands, start your joy engine back up and run it at full speed 24/7! God is a God of restoration. Fill the atmosphere surrounding you with light and joyous sounds of praise, and watch as the devil flees from you. To learn more, read Jerry Savelle’s book on joy, If Satan Can’t Steal Your Joy, He Can’t Keep Your Goods.

Daily Bread – Eons ago an event caused the earth to become “without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light” (Gen. 1:2-3). Darkness could not hold out against the word spoken by God. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12). Jesus also said we are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14). The joy of the Lord is an expression of light that causes darkness to flee from you.‬ Are you releasing joy words and running the devil out of every area your life, relationships, finances, community… OR are your words expressing and establishing structures void of light in your life?
