Yesterday, May 1, the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, Fr. Philip Sullivan, OCD, Superior of El Carmelo Retreat House - Discalced Carmelite Friars in Redlands, CA, blessed a newly constructed shrine to St. Joseph.

We continue to ask for St. Joseph's intercession upon our Province, dedicated to this glorious saint.

On April 11, on the eve Divine Mercy Sunday, the Sacred Heart Retreat House suffered major damage from a fire.

We keep the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles on our prayers during this difficult time, knowing that Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel will guide and comfort them as they rebuild sections of the Retreat House.

Fire Recovery 2026 On April 11, Easter Saturday, we had just finished a time in Mater Dei Hall with our retreatants who shared some of the singular blessings and graces they received during their four-day Healing the Whole Person retreat.
