Last week didn’t play out how we all thought.
With excitement, we set up our CEF tent in Crescent City, ready to share the Gospel with kids.
During the first shift of the first day, an old squad car from the Sheriff’s Department that had been parked on the slope behind our booth rolled into our tent, damaging our equipment and hitting two of our volunteers. Praise God, there were no internal injuries or broken bones, but there was bruising and pain.
Everyone was rattled as we considered the what-ifs of what COULD have happened, but by God’s grace (and a borrowed table from the Sheriff’s Department) we were able to continue sharing the Gospel!
In the four days we were there, we were able to proclaim the GOOD NEWS of Jesus to nearly 200 kids!
The Gospel was also heard and witnessed by the department’s operations captain who was working the booth next door. She had tried to stop the car with her own body! That night she took a little pocket Jesus a volunteer had brought to our booth to keep in her squad car. Will you remember “M” in your prayers and that she will be brought to salvation?
Please pray for our sweet volunteers as they continue to recover. We trust that the Lord can (and WILL) use this for HIS good purpose!
