Loving Creator,

Form all my work

With Your sculpting

Goodness and grace.



Let it be shaped

By Your Holy love

Bearing a beauty

That rises

From the ground

Into some vessel

Bearing a goodness

That strengthens others.



May no act be too small

For me to discover

Your forming power

Making holy

Ordinary acts

Mending and molding

Ever-new possibilities.

Take my little willingness

And strengthen my resolve

To savor the gift You offer

In every labor little or large

Revealing a hidden holiness

I might otherwise overlook.



Yes, form today’s labor

Into a persistent prayer

That readies and strengthens

My resolve to be shaped

By Your love alone.



And let it be

More than enough

For today…

A Prayer

O Living Water,

Soften every hard edge

Of the world and me

With Your constant

Flow of love.



Take every resistance

To Your shaping grace

And form a new creation

With Your persistence

That works its way

Over and over again.



Let it awaken in me

Enough pause

In my rushing and racing

To be hushed into awe

Of Your Spirit’s forming

Power and presence.

Yes, let Your flow

Deepen my consent

And strengthen my trust

That You will provide

All that is necessary

For today’s call of love.



May Your perpetual outpouring

Form me into a channel

Of Your love and peace

And help me recognize

And savor this motion

Of You at work in others.



And let it be

More than enough

For today.
