This month we are supporting Foundations for Families of the Black Hills. Monetary donations can be made to the church with a note/memo "September Mission." Funds will then be given to the foundation and used to purchase the gift cards and diapers they supply to families.

This weekend, Pastor Scott tackled the idea of how we can avoid greed and find contentment, while also recognizing that work makes life sweet!

First, we have to choose to find contentment in our life. Contentment is in fact a choice, not something that comes when we finally have "enough" of whatever we "need."

Second, we should look at our life and find where and how we are rich. It might not be financially, it could be a richness in showing care, in listening, in an ability to connect with and care for children. There are so many ways we can be rich, so look and find how you are.

And finally, when we have chosen to be content, when we have found our richness, we can then give freely out of our richness because we are content with what we have!

Work makes life sweet because WORK IS LOVE MADE VISIBLE. Work allows us to give to others and show love. Have you chosen contentment? Have you recognized where/how are you rich? Are you giving out of your richness?

We all get distracted from time to time. It might be by the chaos of kids, the stress of work responsibilities, or the fly that simply won't stop buzzing by. Distractions happen, and our focus can drift. What are we called to focus on by Jesus? And what does that have to do with making life "sweet"? Join us this weekend as we find out together.

Sunday, September 13th is going to be a day you don't want to miss! Why?

Children's, Youth, and Adult Programing will start again!
Fellowship between services will be back!
Blessing Sunday will be observed in services!
And following all that.....It's our Fall Kickoff Festival!!!!

Join us at Noon for food, fellowship, and a rockin' ministry fair where we can al be reminded and introduced to all the amazing things this church is doing! There will be activities for kids and some cool cars to take a look at as well.
This Festival is a great way to check up on your connection. Do you have a small group? Are you serving in a capacity you love? If not, there's something for you here! Ask lots of questions! Pastor Scott wrapped up our series on 1 John by diving into Chapter 5 and asking the question, "Who am I?" This whole series has repeated over and over again that God is love, that we are loved, that we are called to love! We are God's beloved children, we are loved deeply by God, and God desires for us to love others. May it be that we learn and live and laugh and love, making the world a better place as we live our who we are made to be! Who are we? We are God's extension of love to the world! How can you show that today? Tomorrow?
