🌿💚 A Day to Celebrate: The Grand Opening & Dedication of the Dorothy I. Height Rankin Community Garden!💚🌿

Our hearts are full of gratitude and joy as we celebrate this beautiful new space for our community. We are so pleased with how the garden turned out and grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life.

The day opened with a wonderful African drumming performance by Dr. Anthony Mitchell and grandsons Alpha and Abubachar followed by inspiring words from our community leaders. Our very own Jaquea Mae touched our hearts with a memorable singing tribute. And we shared a delicious taco bar, lovingly prepared by Chef Sam of Tree Haus Night Café. The day was MC'd by our prodigy Carter and Mr. Fon ❤️

A special thank-you to Sterling, our Youth Services Director, and to all of our staff members whose hard work made this celebration possible. We are deeply grateful to Rankin Borough, President Lucky Price, Mayor Joelisa McDonald and the Rankin Council for entrusting RCC, our community, and NCNW as stewards of this garden.

Thank you to Rivers of Steel and Techn'e Construction LLC for helping bring this vision to life. This garden is a wonderful gift to our community, and we can’t wait to see it grow into a place of connection, care, and shared pride. 🌱
