What better place to start than with Adam and Eve approached from the standpoint of a covenantal relationship with the Divine, and a metaphorical story of exile and the brokenness of life. You will have a special treat this coming Sunday… our very own Clarice Zellmer will be speaking and sharing some spiritual wisdom she has learned over the years. Her message is entitled: "Finding Joy in Life by Overcoming the Need to Define Success and to Control Outcomes."

Clarice reminds us that American culture loves to highlight “success stories” where an individual has overcome a difficult situation to achieve the “perfect” job or sports career. What no one talks about is that many people feel unfulfilled even when they appear to have extraordinary lives, beautiful homes, glamorous friends, and financial security. Together you will explore the concept of Self-actualization and discuss what Clarice has learned in her own quest to increase happiness and reduce stress by realigning priorities and relinquishing control. What the Christian Church now celebrates as Pentecost was the gelling of the disciples into a team, a crew, standing together, encouraging each other, supporting each other in continuing the work Jesus began.

On Pentecost we always hear the story of the disciples who were gathered together in Jerusalem waiting “to receive power from the Holy Spirit” as Jesus promised them (in Acts 1:8).
