Shabbat Mevarchim Sivan
Parshat Bamidbar
It describes HaShem's instruction to take a census and details the camping formation of the Israelites in the desert. Each tribe had their own Nasi, leader of their tribe. Our parashah opens by telling us who the leaders were and instructs them to be present when each tribe is counted. It also begins to enumerate the responsibilities of the Levites when transporting the Mishkan.

There is a powerful prayer for children as we enter this month of Sivan - Tefillat HaShlah (the Prayer of the Shelah Hakadosh) recited on erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan.

Join us as we welcome the new month together with minyan, community, and a family-friendly Shabbat dinner. Bring the kids, bring the family, and come share in the warmth of being together.

There’s something beautiful about starting a new חודש surrounded by family, friends and the joy of community.

As we begin this new חודש, we bless one another:

יְחַדֵּשׁ עָלֵינוּ הַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה לְטוֹבָה וְלִבְרָכָה, לְשָׂשׂוֹן וּלְשִׂמְחָה

May this new month be renewed for us with goodness and blessing, joy and happiness—for us and for our children.

✨ Come daven with us, RSVP for dinner, and make it a special evening for the whole family.

Rabbi Dovid Kaplan will lead all services.

On Pesach, we step away from the noise of complexity. We are carried by a heightened awareness of Hashem’s presence—reminded that redemption can come in an instant, beyond our own efforts. It is a time of clarity, of אמונה, of recognizing that not everything depends on us.

And then Pesach ends.

Chametz returns, and with it returns the world of hishtadlut—effort, initiative, building, striving. We re-enter a life where we bake, create, plan, and act. But we are not meant to return unchanged.

The challenge—and the opportunity—is to carry the clarity of Pesach into the fullness of everyday life.

To eat chametz, but with intention.
To work and strive, but with faith.
To build our lives, while remembering Who is truly guiding them.

If Pesach taught us how to trust, then the days that follow teach us how to live that trust.

May we merit to infuse our ordinary routines with the awareness we gained during the festival—so that even in a world of chametz, we remain rooted in the simplicity, humility, and faith of matzah.

See you this Shabbat! Kiddush on us. Shabbat shalom!
