BREAKOUT SESSION HIGHLIGHT

Women Ministers in a Misogynistic Culture: Surprising Insights from the Louisville Institute Research

Join Dr. Elizabeth Rios as she unveils surprising findings so far from her Louisville Institute research on women ministers navigating a misogynistic culture. Are women truly the great supporters of each other that many believe them to be? Have men become genuine allies, actively opening doors for female ministers? Are denominations providing the level of support they claim? This session will explore these questions and more, shedding light on what’s really happening in the world of women in ministry. Together, we’ll discuss how to create communities where women not only survive but thrive. Come and discover the current realities and future possibilities.

Half the church, (A phrase used by author, Carolyn Custis James) is a coalition of Christian leaders, both men and women, ranging from pastors, lay leaders, church planters, historians, poets, journalists, and all in-between who long to see the American church truly empower the whole church. Thus, "HTC" focuses on helping egalitarian churches align their theology with praxis in order to see an increased amount of women leading within the American Church. We hold a deep conviction that the American Church will not fully thrive, until it is fully empowered.

And there is nothing wrong with a women's conference :)

But this specific gathering in NYC is intentionally designed for men and women who want to learn how to empower and resource the whole church, aligning praxis with a theology of mutuality (where women and men lead alongside one another)
