Guard your attention like it's precious. Because it is.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

No matter where you find yourself today, God WILL meet you there. Our circumstances don't change who God is. He is ready to walk with you in all seasons of life.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

Bitterness remembers every injury and forgets every mercy.

But, what if you turn that around?
If you let your heart linger a little longer on the mercies instead of the wounds?
Everything begins to feel different.
Lighter. Softer.
More like healing than surviving.

Injuries are real… and they echo loudly — they bruise us, shake us, change us.
But mercies… mercies whisper.
You have to slow down to hear them.
You have to choose to notice them.
Sometimes you have to ask God to help you see them at all.
But when you do?
They start shining through the darkness like tiny lanterns.

Bitterness magnifies the pain.
Mercy magnifies the grace.
Bitterness keeps a record of what was taken.
Mercy keeps a record of what was given.
Bitterness replays what broke you.
Mercy remembers Who held you together.

And that changes everything.

If you trace back through your story,
you’ll see moments when God carried you through nights you didn’t think you’d survive, when He guarded your heart in ways you didn’t even know you needed, when He sent people, provision, protection, peace —
right when your knees were buckling.

Injuries try to define you.
Mercies quietly refine you.

So maybe today isn’t about pretending the hurt didn’t happen.
Maybe it’s simply about deciding which list you’ll keep adding to:
the list of every wrong that ever wounded you,
or the list of every kindness God has poured over you.

Because the beautiful truth?
You’ll never run out of mercies to count.
Not ever.
God gives new ones every single morning —
even on the mornings when your heart feels too tired to look for them. Ask Him to show you.

Choose to remember the mercies.
Choose to gather them close.
Choose to let them be louder than the bitterness trying to rise up in you.

That’s how healing begins.
That’s how freedom grows.
And that’s how your heart learns, slowly and surely,
to rest in the goodness of God —
The same God Who has shown you far more mercy
than any injury could ever outweigh.

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22–23

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. - James 4:8

This verse is both an invitation and a promise; as we actively pursue a closer relationship with God, He actively draws near to us. Choose to take one step closer to Him today - it could change everything.

MISSIONARY UPDATE FROM THE HORTON FAMILY:

PRAISES

Tucker’s Progress
Thank you all for praying for Tucker—we were able to get him in to see a children’s orthopedic doctor in Denver, Colorado. He got a great report and they were able to remove the cast and pins in his arm. He is doing very well and is quickly gaining back his strength and mobility.

Vehicle Provision
We were able to purchase a vehicle for our family to use in Honduras. The one we were originally praying about purchasing sold, but the Lord blessed us with a much better vehicle at a much better price. It has been very well maintained/taken care of. We are grateful for the Lord’s provision and for everyone who has prayed/given toward this need.

New Little Blessing
We are expecting a new little blessing in January. Our goal was to try and be on the field by the end of this year, but with this addition, we will wait until after the baby is born. This will also allow us to obtain a birth certificate and passport before leaving the country. We are thankful and excited the Lord has blessed us with another precious child to raise for Him.

Deputation/Ministry Opportunities
Since leaving home in early May, we have traveled 9,300 miles, in seven states, sharing about our ministry and the burden the Lord has given us. We are thankful for the opportunities the Lord has given us to serve and be a help and encouragement to pastors and church planters in the Western United States. We have had the opportunity to canvas neighborhoods, assist with nursing home visitation, complete some work/maintenance on church buildings and properties and share the gospel with several people along the way. Lord willing, we will be arriving back home next week.

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for strength and an easy pregnancy for Kelsey as we continue to travel on deputation.

Please pray for a young man named Myles. Myles was a repairman who fixed a flat tire for us. While he was assisting us, I was able to share the Gospel with him. He grew up in church but hasn’t been to church in many years. He is lost and knows his need of salvation. He was in tears while I was witnessing to him, but was not ready to be saved yet. Please pray the Lord will continue to work in his heart and that he would be born again soon.

In Honduras, children’s services brought a 10 year old girl to the home, who was removed from her family because of abuse. She is at the children’s home and adjusting well, considering the circumstances. Please pray for her, that she will come to know the Lord, and that we will be able to financially care for her as well. It takes a minimum of $260 a month to care for each child in the Home. Currently there are 24 kids in the children’s home.

We are thankful for the goodness of God’s people and His provision along the way. He is so good to us and we are so grateful for all His blessings in our lives.
