I am blowing away your rebellious deeds like a cloud, and your sins like a mist. Return to me, because I am redeeming you. (Isaiah 44:22 EHV)

Hymn ELH 432:1,5 Jesus, Thy Blood and Righteousness

Jesus, Thy blood and righteousness
My beauty are, my glorious dress;
‘Midst flaming worlds, in these arrayed,
With joy shall I lift up my head.

Lord, I believe were sinners more
Than sands upon the ocean shore,
Thou hast for all a ransom paid,
For all a full atonement made.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your only Son to live and die in my place, removing all my sins from me. Lead me each day to repentance and to forgiveness in Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Bible Reading

Faith is being sure about what we hope for, being convinced about things we do not see. For by this faith the ancients were commended in Scripture. By faith we know that the universe was created by God’s word, so that what is seen did not come from visible things. (Hebrews 11:1-3 EHV)

Hymn ELH 363:1-3 Thou Art the Way

Thou art the Way; to Thee alone
From sin and death we flee;
And he who would the Father seek
Must seek Him, Lord, by Thee.

Thou art the Truth; Thy Word alone
True wisdom can impart.
Thou only can inform the mind
And purify the heart.

Thou art the Life; the rending tomb
Proclaims Thy conquering arm;
And those who put their trust in Thee
Not death nor hell shall harm.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, through Your Word, all things came into being. Help me always to trust in Your Word as the only source of truth for my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Bible Reading

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, neither things present nor things to come, nor powerful forces, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39 EHV)

Hymn ELH 437:1 In Jesus I Find Rest and Peace

In Jesus I find rest and peace–
The world is full of sorrow;
His wounds are my abiding-place;
Let the unknown tomorrow
Bring what it may, There I can stay,
My faith finds all I need today,
I will not trouble borrow.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, when I am surrounded by fear, remind me, through Your Word, that You are watching over my life. When I hear news of terrible tragedy, comfort me with the knowledge that You are in control of all things. When I see hate and violence, remind me of Your grace and mercy in sending Your Son, Jesus, to be my Savior. In His name I pray. Amen.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed. Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all. (Psalm 34:18-19 EHV)

Hymn ELH 240:1,3 Jesus, Refuge of the Weary

Jesus, Refuge of the weary,
Blest Redeemer, whom we love,
Fountain in life’s desert dreary,
Savior from the world above,
O how oft thine eyes, offended,
Gazed upon the sinner’s fall!
Yet, upon the cross extended,
Thou didst bear the pain of all.

Jesus, may our hearts be burning
With more fervent love for Thee!
May our eyes be ever turning
To Thy cross of agony,
Till in glory, parted never
From the blessed Savior’s side,
Graven in our hearts forever,
Dwell the cross, the Crucified!

Prayer

Jesus, my Savior, thank You for taking away all my sins. Help me to always trust in You for my salvation. Amen.

The doorway to your words lets in light. It gives understanding to the inexperienced. (Psalm 119:130 EHV)

Hymn ELH 228 Almighty God, Thy Word Is Cast

Almighty God, Thy Word is cast
Like seed into the ground;
Now let the dew of heaven descend
And righteous fruits abound.
Let not the foe of Christ and man
This holy seed remove,
But give it root in every heart
To bring forth fruits of love.

Let not the world’s deceitful cares
The rising plant destroy,
But let it yield a hundredfold
The fruits of peace and joy.
Oft as the precious seed is sown,
Thy quickening grace bestow
That all whose souls the truth receive
Its saving power may know.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, strengthen my faith through the hearing and reading of Your Word. I pray that Your Word will spread throughout the world, that many more will hear and believe. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

But regard the Lord, the Christ, as holy in your hearts. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that is in you. (1 Peter 3:15 EHV)

Hymn ELH 506:1-2 Forth in Thy Name, O Lord, I Go

Forth in Thy name, O Lord, I go,
My daily labor to pursue,
Thee, only Thee, resolved to know
In all I think, or speak, or do.

The task Thy wisdom hath assigned,
O let me cheerfully fulfill;
In all my works Thy presence find,
And prove Thy good and perfect will.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me, through Your Holy Spirit, to always be ready to confess Christ as my only Savior from sin, death and Satan. In His name I pray. Amen.

Bible Reading

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6 EHV)

Hymn ELH 429:1,4 Chief of Sinners Though I Be

Chief of sinners though I be,
Jesus shed His blood for me,
Died that I might live on high,
Lived that I might never die.
As the branch is to the vine,
I am His, and He is mine.

Chief of sinners though I be,
Christ is All in all to me;
All my wants to Him are known,
All my sorrows are His own.
Safe with Him from earthly strife,
He sustains the hidden life.

Prayer

Jesus, my Savior, thank You for giving Yourself in my place, so that I am able to approach the Father’s throne of grace with confidence. Amen.

Make music to the LORD, you his favored ones, and give thanks when you remember his holiness, for we spend a moment under his anger, but we enjoy a lifetime in his favor. In the evening, weeping comes to stay through the night, but in the morning, there is rejoicing! (Psalm 30:4-5 EHV)

Hymn ELH 43:1,4 Holy God, We Praise Thy Name

Holy God, we praise Thy name;
Lord of all, we bow before Thee.
All on earth Thy scepter claim,
All in heaven above adore Thee.
Infinite Thy vast domain,
Everlasting is Thy reign.

Holy Father, Holy Son,
Holy Spirit, three we name Thee;
Though in essence only one;
Undivided God we claim Thee
And, adoring, bend the knee
While we own the mystery.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving all my sins, for the sake of Your Son. Remind me of Your grace and mercy each day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. (Ephesians 6:10 EHV)

Hymn ELH 258:6-7 Lord Jesus Christ, My Savior Blest

I have Thy Word,
Christ Jesus, Lord;
Thou never will forsake me.
This will I plead
In time of need.
O help with speed,
When troubles overtake me!

Grant, Lord, we pray,
Thy grace each day,
That we, Thy law revering,
May live with Thee,
And happy be
Eternally,
Before Thy throne appearing.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, all my strength comes from You. Help my faith to grow stronger each day through the power of Your Word. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

In complete peace I will lie down, and I will sleep, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8 EHV)

Hymn ELH 579:1,6 Abide in Grace, Lord Jesus

Abide in grace, Lord Jesus,
Among us constantly,
Lest Satan’s art deceive us
And gain the victory.

Abide among us ever,
Lord, with thy faithfulness;
Jesus, forsake us never,
Help us in all distress!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, protect me from all harm, forgive my sins, strengthen me and keep me faithful. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
