Influence is one of the greatest gifts God can entrust to a person, but it is also one of the most dangerous. It has the power to build destinies or destroy them.

⚠️ We must be careful how we steward influence, and we must be just as careful about who we allow to influence us.

👉🏾 One of the painful realities of pastoring is watching people become vulnerable through offense, pride, hurt, disappointment, and frustration. In those moments, they often give access to voices that seem right, sound wise, and feel validating. But many of those voices are not speaking to their spirit. They are exegeting their flesh. 😮‍💨

💭 Some people don’t counsel your calling. They counsel your emotions.

‼️ They tell you what your wounded ego wants to hear. They reinforce your offense. They justify your rebellion. They baptize your impatience. Then people make decisions that are premature, immature, and dangerous and sprinkle a spiritual cliche on it to justify. “I feel in my spirit or God said”.

👀 Be careful who gets access to your ear.

⚖️ Influence carries weight because influence carries responsibility. We have to be mindful how we use our influence. Be careful, you don’t want to turn your influence into a tool of witchcraft.

How will you explain to God that you mishandled what He trusted you with?

How will you explain that you led someone in the wrong direction because it benefited you?

How will you explain that your words strengthened their flesh while weakening their obedience?

How will you explain that you allowed the influence of another person to make you ignore the voice of God?

🔥 Influence is not a toy. It is not a platform. It is not popularity. It is a trust. One day, every voice that shaped people, every word that redirected people, and every influence that moved people will stand before God and give an account. Be mindful of influence.

🔥 IT IS A DANGEROUS GIFT!
