BACK TO SCHOOL… FamilySearch Style!

School bells are ringing, pencils are sharpened, and class is about to begin. But this time, we’re heading Back to School with our ancestors. Join us for our next FamilySearch Training Meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 6:30 p.m., as we discover the fascinating world of school records and yearbooks online. You may uncover class photos, graduation records, school activities, clubs, sports teams—or even a long-forgotten photograph of an ancestor with a hairstyle they hoped would never be seen again.

Lesson for the evening: Discovering School Records & Yearbooks Online. Come ready to learn how these wonderful records can add faces, personalities, friendships, accomplishments, and stories to the names and dates on our family trees. No homework. No pop quizzes. No tardy slips. Just bring your curiosity and your love of family history. The bell is ringing—don’t be late for this FamilySearch training. Let’s go BACK TO SCHOOL and see what our ancestors left behind in the pages of history.

See you on September 8 instead of September 1. The Preston Idaho South Stake building will be closed all day on September 1, while it receives a refreshing power wash and deep cleaning. So, to all those scheduled to serve that day—consider it a well-earned day off. Relax, recharge, and enjoy the unexpected break.

Our FamilySearch training, scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., is for all Temple and Family History Consultants, Leaders, and anyone interested in gathering their family on both sides of the veil. President Russell M. Nelson taught that the gathering of Israel is "the greatest challenge, the greatest cause, and the greatest work on the earth today."

This effort is being organized through the Cache Valley Communications Council and will include many opportunities for members and others in the community to participate in meaningful service projects. Pres. Russell M. Nelson said, "My dear brothers and sisters, these surely are the latter days, and the Lord is hastening His work to gather Israel. That gathering is the most important thing taking place on earth today. Nothing else compares in magnitude, importance, or majesty. And if you choose to, you can be a big part of it."

The first picture is the missionary board in Pres. Stuart's office at the Stake center. The top left is the next missionary to return home, and continues down to missionaries (without a photo) that haven't been set apart yet. As a presidency, they pray for them and read their weekly letters. The stake appreciates so much the strong examples of these wonderful Elders and Sisters!

The second picture is of our missionary world map in the Stake center hallway. It shows pins in places where our stake members have served missions and what an impact just one stake can make in the world today. All throughout the United States, Africa, South and Central America, Europe and Asia, Preston South Stake members have sacrificed to serve the Lord. Thank you, thank you!
