We had Cottage Prayer meeting Wednesday night at Bob & Faye Holbert’s house. Bob has been ill for a few weeks now and they both are unable to attend church. They are charter members of Unity and we knew they would enjoy the church showing up and they did. Bobs mind is not good but he still was able to give his grace experience! And Faye looked so worn out but she was tickled we came. You can never outgive God; we received a blessing just by going! So thankful for our little group. You can always count on them to be there for the church! We plan to do this once a month for our elderly who aren’t able to attend church!

Holy Week (Sunday)
KJV scripture Matthew 28
As the day begin to dawn Mary Magdalene and Mary came to the sepulcher. There was a great earthquake and an angel had rolled the stone away from the door and sat upon it. The angel spoke to Mary and Mary Magdalene and said Fear not. I know you seek Jesus but He is not here; He has risen! Go tell the disciples that Jesus has risen. On the way Jesus met them and told them to tell the disciples to meet Him in Galilee. The disciples went to the mountain to meet Jesus and when they saw Him they worshiped Him. And Jesus said
“All power is given unto me in Heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. I am with you always even unto the end of the world. Amen”
Today Jesus sits on the right hand of our Father making intercession for us. Jesus is our mediator between us and God. Jesus willingly gave His life to die on the cross for us but in 3 days He arose just like He said He would and one day He’s coming back to get those who have accepted Him in their lives. That will be the last day for the whole world! There will not be another opportunity to accept Him. When the Lord speaks to you and lets you know you need to be saved for when that day comes please accept Him into your life! There is no greater love shown than what Jesus did for you! Praise His holy name!

Holy Week (Saturday)
KJV scripture Matthew 27: 62-66
On Saturday the chief priests and elders went to Pilate with concerns over what Jesus had said that in three days He would rise again. Pilate told them to secure the sepulcher thru the third day to make sure the disciples didn’t steal Him and claim He had risen as He said. Pilate ordered them to secure the stone and set watch and they did.
I’ve often wondered why they were so insecure about all this happening if they didn’t believe it could really come true! They had seen and heard Jesus miracles and they had to believe this could also happen as well but nothing was going to stop Gods wonderful plan! Nothing! God has a plan and it will come to pass just like He says. And tomorrow they are going to see first hand the power God has and how wrong they were!

Holy Week (Good Friday)
KJV scripture Matthew 27: 1-61
When morning came the chief priests and elders took Jesus, in hopes of putting him to death, to Pontius Pilate. Judas realized what he had done and he repented and took the 30 pieces of silver and told them he had made a terrible mistake. They said to him what is that to us and Judas threw down the money and left and hanged himself.
Pontius Pilate asked Jesus if he was the king of the Jews and Jesus said “Thou hast said.” And as the chief priests and elders accused Him Jesus never said a word. Pilate had a prisoner Barabbas who was a murderer and a thief and the people didn’t like him so Pilate assumed the people would want Barabbas killed but the chief priests and elders had convinced the people that Jesus was the one to kill so Pilate asked the people which one they wanted him to release and they said Barabbas. Pilate asked what should I do with him then and the people cried Crucify Him! Pilate realizing he had no further say so washed his hands of him and turned Jesus over to them. Barabbas was released and they took Jesus to the common hall and brought in all the soldiers and stripped Him of his clothes and put on Him a scarlet robe. They platted a crown of thorns on His head and put a reed in His hand and bowed before him and mocked Him saying hail to the king of the Jews. They spit upon Him and took the reed and smote Him on His head. They took the scarlet robe off of Him and put on His own clothes and led Him to be crucified. They asked a man of Cyrene, Simon, to help Jesus carry His cross. They took Jesus to Golgotha and gave Him vinegar to drink and when He tasted it He would not drink it. They crucified Jesus and was selling out His clothes. They put a sign over His head King Of The Jews.
They also hung a thief on each side of Jesus. When the people passed by Him they shook their heads and said save yourself; if you are the son of God come down from that cross. The chief priests and elders said he saved others and can’t save himself; if you come down from the cross we will believe you. The thieves on each side also made fun of Him. Then it was darkness all over the land from the sixth hour to the ninth hour. At the ninth hour Jesus cried “why hast thou forsaken me?” Then Jesus died!
A man named Joseph begged the body of Jesus and Pilate let him have him. Joseph wrapped Jesus in a linen cloth and put Him in Joseph’s tomb and rolled a stone at the door and left. Mary Magdalene and Mary set by the sepulcher.
Jesus endured a lot of pain and disgrace that day from His own disciple, the people (who had heard and seen what good things He had done), the thieves on the cross beside Him, the chief priests and elders and yet He bore it all for you and me to have eternal life in Heaven just by accepting God into our lives. He paid the price and He bore the shame for you and me! That ought to humble each one of us because there is No greater Love than this! Praise HIS holy name!

Holy Week (Thursday)
KJV scripture Matthew 26: 17-29
This is the first day of the feast and the disciples asked Jesus where is this feast gonna take place. Jesus told them to go into the city and find a certain man and tell him the time is at hand and the feast will be at his house.
When it came time they sat down with Jesus and He told them he was about to be betrayed by one of them. They looked around and asked “Lord is it I?” Jesus said the man that dips in the dish with Him will be the one. He also said “it had been good for that man if he had not been born!”
Judas said master is it I and Jesus said “thou hast said!”
And Jesus took the bread and brake it and blessed it and said “take, eat this is my body!” And he took the cup and blessed it and said “drink ye all of it. For this is my blood of the New Testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But i say unto you I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Fathers kingdom.”
I was struck by the obedience of the man who allowed the feast to be in his house. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Then the words of Jesus that this man should have never been born. I believe Jesus knew Judas was gonna betray Him but the hurt He must have felt knowing He was gonna be sold for a meager amount of money by one who walked with Him daily. Imagine walking daily with the Lord and hearing his powerful words of wisdom and seeing the miracles He preformed and never witnessing a bad thing about Him yet you sell Him as he’s no value. What betrayal would you feel?
Jesus shared the bread and wine with His disciples telling them they must partake of it to be a part of Him. Remember Jesus willfully took all our sins to the cross and bore all that shame and pain for you and me. He was the only one worthy to do that! If He had not followed thru we would be doomed for Hell when we die. But He loved us SO much He gave himself to die so we would have the opportunity to accept Him and be saved for the day will come when each of us will die and our souls will either go to Heaven if we accepted the Lord into our lives or we will go to Hell if we rejected Him. We must partake of Him to have eternal life in Heaven.
I hope and pray all who reads this searches their hearts to be sure they are ready to meet the Lord! Our God is an awesome God!
