WORSHIP! We offer two

Worship Services on Sunday mornings - 9:30 & 11:00 AM as well as Recovery Worship Service on Thursdays at 6:30 PM. KIDDOS! Children & Youth also gather for ALL service times in The Bubble for their own Worship Services OR are more than welcome to join us in any of the other Worship Services! RECOVER! Recovery@Powell is held on Thursday nights at 6:30 PM with a FREE Community Fellowship Dinner starting at 5:45 PM (donations accepted) and Open Share Groups follow Worship Service, starting around 7:30 PM in various locations within the church. When people say, "I'm so sorry, I spilled my coffee!" and we say, "Fear not, you're not alone!", this is what we mean!

Excited to share our carpets will be fresh and clean on Sunday morning! Our trustees are putting together a team of folks to help reset the worship center this Saturday morning at 9:00 am - come hang out and help out as we continue to celebrate renewal!

As part of our 40 Days of Prayer, this weekend we're joining with churches across the Holston Conference in a Neighborhood Prayer Walk. On Saturday, August 29, you're invited to walk through your street and/or neighborhood and pray for each household. Then on Sunday, August 30, we want to lift up the places around our church where we sit down for lunch together so often.

We're continuing to make simplicity our guide during these 40 days. You may know the needs of every household on your street, or you may not know many of their names. Either way, you're invited to walk through your neighborhood and lift up each household in prayer, silently or quietly, using the model Jesus gives us: "Give us this day our daily bread." Pray that each family and business receives what they need for today, and that our eyes will continue to be open to what God is doing in our midst.

In giving the Lord's Prayer, Jesus also cautions against praying in such a way to be noticed. Our goal for this weekend is simply prayer for our neighbors. If opportunities present themselves for conversation, you are welcome to ask if there is anything you can pray for. But more than anything, we simply want to lift each other up.

Wednesday Night at Powell is back tonight at 6:30! Last week in our children's ministry, students made this awesome binoculars craft as they walk through the Lord's Prayer: "When we're upset with someone, it helps to see them through God's eyes."

It's week two in Practicing the Way, 12 Steps, and Women's Bible Journaling. All groups are still open for new faces tonight! And thanks to your generosity, a free meal will be available in our kids and youth ministries every week. See you there!

If you're looking to take a next step in your faith, Wednesday Night at Powell is the place for you. Last night more than 100 people gathered for the launch of our discipleship groups, including 43 people in our Practicing the Way fall cohort! And we're excited to share that dinner will now be provided for kids and youth every week!

Study guides and materials are coming in for our Wednesday Night at Powell launch this week! Discipleship groups and kids & youth ministries will run from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, including:

Practicing the Way, an eight-week pathway for discipleship led by Rev. John Gargis (Worship Center tables)

12 Steps, a framework for healing using spiritual principles from Recovery (Second Floor Education Building)

Women's Creative Bible Journaling, walking through the Beatitudes this fall (Worship Center lobby)

Dad's Table, a place for dads of all seasons to find fellowship and growth together (Second Floor Education Building)

When you donate at KARM Stores and mention our church, we receive credit toward gift cards. We share these gift cards with families we build relationships with through our local missions, like the 19 households who visited our food pantry yesterday. In the last quarter, your 221 donations to KARM Stores turned into $760 in gift cards! Way to go out there!

This Sunday, we're launching 40 Days of Prayer: a new daily journey our church is walking through together at the start of the new school year.

Prayer is both more simple and more powerful than we often believe. Jesus' response to "how do we pray?" is the Lord's Prayer, a framework that takes about 30 seconds to pray. In fact, Jesus stresses simplicity over word count or magic phrases when introducing the Lord's Prayer in the Gospel of Matthew.

For the next six Sundays, we'll gather to share on one element of the Lord's Prayer at 9:30 and 11:00 AM. And starting Monday, August 10, you're invited to join us in our new 40 Days of Prayer booklet. We designed this free resource for the same simplicity: breath prayers that can go with us throughout the day, connected to the same themes found in the Lord's Prayer. These booklets will be available in-person and online starting this Sunday.

Whether you have a passionate prayer life or feel like you don't know how to pray at all, you're not alone. Our church continues to find great power and deep meaning in walking through things together. We would love for you to join us.

Join us this Saturday for our Benevolence Car Wash at Powell Church! All donations from the car wash go to our benevolence fund, which helps families in our church and community when facing critical needs. And volunteers are always welcome to come wash cars, wave signs, or just enjoy the day with us.

Wednesday Night at Powell starts August 19th (6:30-8:00 each week), and signups are now open for our new discipleship groups!

🌳Practicing the Way, an eight-week journey with a simple, beautiful, and deeply practical path for following Jesus in your everyday life, led by Rev. John Gargis.

🪜12 Steps, spiritual principles from Recovery to bring transformation one day at a time. Everyone is recovering from something; we do that best together.

🎨Women's Creative Bible Journaling, working together through an eight-week study on the Beatitudes from Matthew 5. No art experience is needed, and all supplies will be provided!

🧔‍♂️Dad's Table, a space to connect for every season of fatherhood. Honest conversation, practical wisdom, and the chance to build meaningful relationships with other dads.
