🎙️ Faith & Practice — Season 2

We recently wrapped up Season 1 of Faith & Practice, where we spent time considering The Shape of Discipleship — what it means to follow Jesus, grow in Christlikeness, and be formed by the ordinary means of grace.

Now, we’re excited to begin Season 2: The Life of the Church.

In this new season, we’ll consider God’s design for His people gathered together. What is the church? Why does membership matter? How do elders and deacons serve the body? Why do we gather on the Lord’s Day? How do baptism, the Lord’s Supper, fellowship, discipleship, and mission shape the life of a healthy church?

Join us as we look to Scripture and consider the beauty, purpose, and mission of Christ’s church.

On the last day of school, both our FBP and FBA staff gathered for an End-of-Year Cookout! They fellowshipped, played Bingo, ate amazing food, and made lemonade creations with fruit and syrups at the Lemonade Bar! Join us in showing appreciation for all that our wonderful church and school staff does throughout the year for our FBA and FBP family!

After a recent Lord's Day Morning Service, we had the honor as a church family of celebrating Dr. Perry Garrett receiving his doctoral degree! Please join us once again in congratulating our senior pastor and praising God for this great accomplishment and thanking Dr. Perry and his family for all the years of hard work and dedication they have put in for the edification of our church body and the Church as a whole!

Last week, four of our young adults headed to Harriman, Utah to intern with Awaken City City Church! Please be in prayer for Jackson, Laynee, Brooklyn, and Gavin as they serve this summer, partnering with Awaken City to make Christ known throughout Utah!

hosted a beautiful Spring Ladies Tea on Saturday! The men served while the ladies got to sit back and enjoy. There were gorgeous tables lovingly decorated by our hostesses, dainty delicious treats, a sweet time of worship, and wonderful fellowship! Ladies were also treated to funny and inspiring life stories with a Biblical worldview from our amazing speaker, Sarah Fern.

Join us in wishing a very "Happy Birthday" today to Pastor Perry! If you didn't know, Pastor Perry teaches a daily 8am Apologetics class to our First Baptist Academy seniors and this morning, with the help of his incredible wife Tanna, they threw him a surprise party in class! Let's all make sure we let him and his family know how much we all appreciate them as a First Baptist Powell and First Baptist Academy family!

One week ago, we held a Holy Week Good Friday service. We gathered together to partake of the Lord's Supper, heard a homily from Pastor Perry, and walked through the seven sayings of Jesus on the cross through scripture and song. This annual service is always a special time for us to gather as a church family and deeply appreciate what Jesus did for us on the cross. This was the darkest day in history, and yet we refer to it as good because it marked the dramatic culmination of God’s plan to save His people from their sins.
