It is finally summer, and St. John's Pantry has received its first delivery of farm fresh vegetables. Cucumber salad or homemade dill pickles anyone?

Thanks to the Wyoming Hunger Initiative for awarding St. John's Pantry $5,000 grant for infrastructure items such as shelving, operating expenses and equipment. This grant allows us to preserve other funding for food. There are many ways to support pantries, and the Wyoming Hunger Initiative has chosen to fund items that help pantries grow, organize and respectfully present themselves to the pantry community. We could not do this without their support.

Join us next week Wednesday, the 17th, at 6:30 for a conversation with Denise and Miranda about what we mean when we talk about the LGBT community, and a brief history of The Episcopal Church’s position and relationship with this community. We hope this will be an enjoyable and informative evening as Denise and Miranda share their knowledge and experiences in this area. All are welcome!

St. John’s will fly the pride flag through June to publicly declare that LGBTQIA+ individuals are fully welcomed, loved, and spiritually affirmed in our congregation. It signals that the church is a safe haven for them, and just as significantly, their friends and families who love them.

St. John's Pantry would like to thank the Wyoming Community Foundation for their $10,000 gift to our pantry. This grant allowed us to purchase personal hygiene products for our pantry community. We were able to stretch those funds to several other organizations in our community that support individuals in need. Offering hygiene products allows our visitors to be clean and presentable for job interviews and they prevent children from being bullied at school when those products are not available in their home. We could not have done this without the generous support of the .
