Day 7 - The Safari at Amboseli National Park. Animal sightings started off a little slow but picked up as the day went on! Every safari van will have a unique experience, so be sure to head over to instagram and check out our chaperone photos as well! We had some great views of Mount Kilimanjaro, too, which isn’t always the case. Students got to practice haggling at the gate while all the paperwork was sorted out and fun was had by all. Not pictured: the dust. It was very dry and everything and everybody was coated in the dust (aka Kenyan makeup) by the time we got back to the center tonight!

Day 6 part 1 - We loaded up onto our 30something safari vans and headed out to Maasai land, had tea with the Bishop, and experienced a Maasai welcome and blessing. We also had the privilege of washing the feet of over 200 children and giving away over 500 pairs of shoes to children. Swahiba Networks helped everything run smoothly with so many working parts and we’re thankful for our partnership with them. It was so awesome to see everyone pitch in and support one another and so sweet to see our students experience another culture and share Jesus and meet a physical need.

Day 5…
We don’t have a lot of photos from today, but rest assured it was awesome! We spent the morning at Peter’s church and sang there for two of their services. Our students did amazing. We’ll post some chaperone pics from there tomorrow during our bus ride. We went to a large, prestigious girl’s boarding school, today where we had a dance party, got to worship with them, shared our songs and testimonies, and had times in small groups with their 10th grade girls. No photos of faces were allowed there, so our pics are all of our students. (Also, if you find your student and they look like they’re scowling, please assume it was squinting in the sun! It is bright here right near the equator!)

Love the pics? You’ll find more here on Swahiba Networks gallery.

One of the most powerful moments of our trip!

Yesterday morning, our students had the opportunity to wash the feet of children, give them a new pair of shoes, and remind them of a simple but life-changing truth: Jesus loves them.

It wasn’t really about the shoes. It was about serving the way Jesus served. It was about looking a child in the eye, showing them dignity, and sharing the love of Christ in a tangible way.

As we washed feet, prayed, and shared stories, we were reminded that the Gospel is more than something we say—it’s something we live.

Please continue praying for our team as we share the hope of Jesus throughout Kenya.
