THIS INVITATION IS FOR YOU!
As we grew up, we often heard the older people talk about how they could not sleep. This was an issue a child did not need to worry about. When we were young, we could sleep soundly and at length. However, as I am now old, I understand what they were speaking about. I would love to be as I once was. I could sleep anywhere and at any time, day or night.
When it comes to our relationship with God, we see that many who are committing sin are spiritually asleep about their way of life. They are asleep to the scriptural teaching concerning certain sins. Their eyes are closed, their dreams are pleasant, and their minds are made up. Whether it is sin in the one we call an alien sinner or one among the family of God within His church, the church of Christ, it has the same result.
Christians can and do become weak and unfaithful spiritually. This occurs because they are asleep when it comes to God’s instructions for them. Their unfaithfulness is seen in their participation in the work given to Christians. This work involves all that God says in this regard. We see Christians doing nothing but coming to services, and this is only on an occasional basis.
There is so much more to be done by the Christian. There are those of our acquaintances who need to be taught the truth from God when it comes to how one is saved from past sins. In many instances, how a Christian lives their life before the non-Christian has an enormous influence. The Christian’s words about salvation are empty and of non-effect when their life is a violation of those words.
The path to salvation for the alien sinner can only come to them when they awake from the sleep of ignorance toward the Bible. In the same manner, the Christians' failure to live as commanded by God can only be overcome when Christians awake from the sleep of not seeing all the scriptures given to them for a faithful life in Christ. The devil has convinced many Christians that they cannot do what God commands them to do. All Christians can become skillful Christians in God’s service.
The church of Christ in Pound, VA, extends an invitation to all, welcoming everyone to our services. We meet on Sunday mornings at 10 am for Bible Classes. The adult Bible class will begin a study of the book of Romans and will start in chapter 1 at verse 1. Then, at 11 am, we gather in our auditorium for a collective worship service. At this time, there will be a sermon titled AWAKE SLEEPER. Then at 4 pm, we meet for our second service. There will be a sermon at this time, titled HOW TO BECOME A SKILLFUL CHRISTIAN. We also meet at our building on Wednesdays at 7 pm for Bible Classes.

We also want you to know that if you have any questions about anything we teach and practice, we can meet with you in a private Bible class. At such times, we turn to the Bible to see what God has approved as the way to do things. We believe that we must have Scriptural proof for all we teach and practice.
