How are you giving thanks today?

"Now Thank We All Our God", number 102 in The United Methodist Hymnal, invites us to consider what we have received from God, and how we might proclaim our gratitude. Surprisingly, the words for the hymn were written amidst struggle and want, as Martin Rinckart and his family were refugees during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648).

God is good!

A true blessing for many. Last week we picked up Sunday School Children for the first time and this coming Sunday we will start giving rides to adults who are unable to drive or in need of assistance.

Feel free to contact us at 812-610-9582 or get in touch with any one of our parishoners to make arrangements.

Come join us and see the freshly decaled bus tomorrow afternoon at the Holy Angels Community Center in New Harmony for the Spaghetti Dinner to benefit Blythe Chapel to help offset their costs in rebuilding.

It is hard in today's age, our own as well as the world's, to walk in faith. Maybe it always has been. The fears and uncertainties of our ancestors were probably not that far removed or different from our own. But, in reflection of today and our Church, we can see what the power of stepping out in Faith can accomplish. Today we watched fear and uncertainty give way to Joy. Not just a joy of happiness but a much needed sense of Healing that a very small Church desperately needed. And, although we read it in Scripture and we hear it in the messages, sometimes we just have to live it in order to remember that it is our faith that heals us. There are always the ups and downs of this world, we just have to remember and have the faith to reach beyond this one to find some Peace.

I love my Church family! Thank you for sharing your faith! And Thanks be to God.
