Our Banana Split Night a fun, and tasty, success.

The Well Youth Group will be breaking the previous record to make the biggest banana split in Posey County History. Tomorrow night at youth we will have a 20 foot banana split. Bring a friend and help us devour it.

On Thursday, our mission trip team laid lots of shingles in the Memphis heat during our last work day. We gave our homeowner, Ms. Laverne, a small gift from our group and got to talk and pray with her and some of her neighbors before heading back to camp for the last night. On Friday, our group packed up and headed out, but we made sure to explore Memphis before heading back to Poseyville. We started at the National Civil Rights Museum at the Loraine Motel, lunch at BB King’s Blue’s Club on Beale Street, dessert at A. Schwab, and shopping at the Bass Pro Pyramid. Thank you to all of the youth members and chaperones who attended this mission trip, thank you to SOS - Service Over Self for making this week possible, and a special thank you to everyone who helped us out through fundraisers, donations, and prayers.

Day 2 & 3 we continued working on our homeowner’s roof; tearing off old shingles, repairing rotten decking boards, relaying underlayment, drip-edge, and on with new shingles. We have been blessed with sunshine and no rain (though it reached 104°). We ended with supper at Rendezvous which was delicious! Today we start our last work day before exploring Memphis and heading home tomorrow night!

Day 1 is in the books! We started with a morning devotional before bussing out to the job site. We beat the heat with lots of water and gatorade and got a good start to our homeowner’s roof. Looking forward to working hard again tomorrow! 😎☀️🔨

And…we’re off! Memphis, TN here we come. Looking forward to a week of service at SOS - Service Over Self with our youth. 🆘✝️🔨

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to support our mission trip team! The spaghetti was delicious, the game was competitive and fun, and we enjoyed seeing you all!
