🙌🏽 What a wonderful time we had in the House of the Lord yesterday!

We were blessed by a timely and relevant word from Reverend Eric Hargrove entitled:

🌿 "Don't Branch Off" 🌿


Drawing from John 15, Reverend Hargrove reminded us that branches were never designed to thrive on their own. We were challenged to remain connected to Christ, our true source of life, strength, and fruitfulness, while also recognizing the importance of staying connected to the body of Christ.

His message warned against the dangers of "branching off"—isolating ourselves, disconnecting from godly community, and attempting to grow apart from the Vine. He encouraged us to stay planted, stay submitted to God's process, and remain in fellowship with other believers. When we stay connected to Jesus and His people, we position ourselves to grow, bear fruit, and fulfill God's purpose for our lives.

We always appreciate when Reverend Hargrove has the opportunity to share what God has placed on his heart. The message was encouraging, challenging, and full of practical wisdom for the season we are living in.

What an incredible day at our Food Pantry! We were so blessed to serve our community, connect with our neighbors, and pray with so many amazing people. ❤️

Today was a beautiful reminder of what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus — showing love, compassion, and hope in action. We are so thankful for every volunteer who gave their time and heart to serve, and for the extra helping hands that joined us today!

A special thank you to The Salvation Army of Portsmouth, Virginia for partnering with us and bringing their truck to help make today possible. God is so good, and we can’t wait to serve alongside you all again next month!

📣 Church Announcement📣

Good evening, church family!
Please be reminded that there will be no virtual Bible Study tonight.

Pastor John encourages everyone to spend time studying and meditating on Psalm 23 and Psalm 27 during your personal devotion time this week.

Virtual Bible Study will resume next Wednesday at our regular time. We look forward to fellowshipping with everyone again then!

This month, we want to honor one of our faithful volunteers, Brother Dexter Cutler!

Brother Dexter is always ready to lend a helping hand with a warm smile. Whether he’s serving as an usher, greeting people with kindness, or making sure our parking lot flows smoothly during events, he serves with consistency and a true servant’s heart.

His dedication helps create a welcoming and orderly environment for everyone who comes through our doors. We are truly grateful for his faithfulness and willingness to serve wherever needed.

Thank you, Brother Dexter, for all you do for The Way The Truth & The Life Church! We appreciate you more than words can say. ❤️

During Sunday’s message, Pastor John spoke about living in life’s sweet spot and referenced this powerful verse:

“Every good and perfect gift comes from God ...” — James 1:17 🤍

Sometimes we spend so much time searching for the next thing that we forget to recognize the gifts God has already placed in our lives. His presence, His peace, our families, purpose, growth, and even the small daily blessings are reminders of His goodness.

Many of us are already walking in life’s sweet spot and don’t even realize it.

Walk with Him. Live by His Word. Trust His leading. There is beauty in a life surrendered to God. ✨

We are so excited to announce Praise Party VBS 2026 coming this summer!

📅 Dates: Tuesday, July 21 – Friday, July 24
🕕 Time: 6:00–8:00 PM
📍 Location: The Way, The Truth, and The Life Church | Portsmouth, VA

This is a FREE Vacation Bible School open to our church family, friends, and neighbors throughout Hampton Roads and we would love for your children to join us! 💛

We’ll have:
🎶 Powerful praise & worship focus
🍽️ Dinner served nightly
🎲 Games & activities
🎨 Crafts
📖 Fun, engaging Bible lessons on what it means to praise God

What a beautiful Mother’s Day at The Way The Truth and The Life Church 💐❤️

From the worship to the Word, today was so special. One of the highlights was Pastor John pulling out the saxophone and playing “My Tribute” 🎷🙌🏽 Such a powerful moment.

And the blessing spoken over every mother… wow. So much love, encouragement, and grace poured into the room today.

We love and celebrate all the amazing mothers and mother figures. Thank you for all that you do! 🌸✨
