New Lead Pastor Coming to Cornerstone Church of Portsmouth

On Sunday August 30, the congregation of Cornerstone Church of Portsmouth will welcome Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht and his wife, Karen. They will be introduced at both the 9:30 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. services with an informal “meet and greet” to follow.
Rev. Hecht began his ministry in 1988 and has primarily served congregations in and around Pittsburgh and Northern Pennsylvania. Since 2014, he has been the lead Pastor at Warren First Methodist Church, a Global Methodist Church in Warren, Pennsylvania.

On coming to Portsmouth, Rev. Hecht commented:
Each appointment has deepened my conviction that the local church is one of God’s chosen instruments for forming disciples, proclaiming the gospel, caring for the vulnerable, and serving the community in practical ways. As Karen and I prepare to come to Portsmouth, we do so with humility, gratitude, and a genuine sense that God is opening this next season of ministry.

His first Sunday to preach at Cornerstone will be Sunday, September 6. The church is a Global Methodist congregation located at 808 Offnere Street, Portsmouth, Ohio.
