Join us at Sanctuary Community of Christ next Sunday, June 14th at 5:30 for the latest Coffee and Conversation as we prepare to discuss a controversial and highly misunderstood topic. The topic will be Myths and Facts About Addiction, Housing, and Poverty. Presenters will include Jayme Ronan Blevins, Jazzy Lowe, and Scott Leeth. Blevins, an addiction counselor at Amazing Grace Treatment Center, will debunk some of the myths about addicts and addiction. Lowe, a social worker with the Veterans Administration who helps homeless vets access services including affordable housing, will talk about the lack of affordable housing and the real reason so many people are unhoused. Finally, Leeth, a veteran and independent journalist who has worked in both government and public education, will expose some of the common myths about poverty in our area and will discuss the real reasons people remain poor.
