JESUS Always
By: Sarah Young

JOY IS A CHOICE. You may not have much control over your circumstances, but you can still choose to be joyful. I created you a little lower than the heavily beings, and I gave you an amazing mind.
Your ability to think things through and make decisions derives from your elevated position in My kingdom. Your thoughts are extremely important because emotions and behavior flow out of them. So endeavor to make good thought – choices.
Whenever you are feeling joyless, you need to pause and remember: I am with you. I am watching over you continuously. I love you with perfect, unfailing Love.I have given you My Spirit, and this Holy helper within you has infinite Power. He can help you line up your thinking with the absolute truths of Scripture. My continual Presence is a biblical promise, so seek to see me in the midst of your circumstances.
At first you may perceive only your problems. But keep on looking till you can discern the Light of My Presence shining upon your difficulties, reflecting sparkles of Joy back to you.

Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
—PSALM 8:5 ESV

“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
—GENESIS 28:15

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.
—PSALM 107:8

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of GOD lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of CHRIST, he does not belong to CHRIST.
—ROMANS 8:9

Our Father who art in heaven.
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever.
Amen

JESUS Calling
Enjoying Peace in His Presence
By: Sarah Young

I AM YOUR BEST FRIEND, as well as your King. Walk hand and hand with Me through your life. Together we will face whatever each day brings: pleasures, hardships, adventures, disappointments. Nothing is wasted when it is shared with Me. I can bring beauty out of the ashes of lost dreams. I can glean Joy out of sorrow, Peace out of adversity. Only a Friend who is also King of kings could accomplish this divine alchemy. There is no other like Me!
The friendship I offer you is practical and down-to-earth, yet it is saturated with heavenly Glory. Living in My Presence means living in two realms simultaneously: the visible world and the unseen, eternal reality. I have equipped you to stay conscious of Me while walking along dusty, earthbound paths.

***************

—JOHN 15:13-15
“ Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

—ISAIAH 61:3
And provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for a display of his splendor.

—2 CORINTHIANS 6:10
Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

JESUS Always
By: Sarah Young

IF ANYTHING IS EXCELLENT or praiseworthy, think about such things. This may sound easy, but it's actually quite counter-cultural. People who work in the media almost always shine their spotlights on what is wrong. They rarely bother to report good things that are happening--especially the many good things My people are doing.
Having a positive focus in not only counter-cultural; it's contrary to human nature. Your mind is a magnificent creation, but it is deeply fallen. When Adam and Eve rebelled against Me in the Garden of Eden, everything was damaged by the Fall. As a result, seeking to focus on excellent things does not come naturally to you. It requires persistent effort--making the right choice over and over again. Daily, moment by moment, you choose to look for what is good.
In spite of the massive problems in your world, much remains that is worthy of praise. Moreover, the One who is most praiseworthy is the One who is right beside you--closer than your thoughts. Rejoice in Me, beloved!

—PHILIPPIANS 4:8 (KJV)
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

—GENESIS 3:6 (KJV)
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

—PROVERBS 16:16 (KJV)
16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

—PSALM 73:23 (KJV)
23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast held me by my right hand.

WATCH YOUR WORDS DILIGENTLY. Words have such great power to bless or to wound. When you speak carelessly or negatively, you damage others as well as yourself. This ability to verbalize is an awesome privilege, granted only to those I created in My image. You need help in wielding this mighty power responsibly.
Though the world applauds quick-witted retorts, My instructions about communication are quite different: be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Ask My Spirit to help you whenever you speak. I have trained you to pray— “Help me, Holy Spirit”—before answering the phone, and you have seen the benefits of this discipline. Simply apply the same discipline to communicating with people around you. If they are silent, pray before speaking to them. If they are talking, pray before responding. These are split-second prayers, but they put you in touch with My Presence. In this way, your speaking comes under the control of My Spirit. As positive speech patterns replace your negative ones, the increase in your Joy will amaze you.

**************

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
—PROVERBS 12:18

My dear brothers, take note of this: everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to become angry.
—JAMES 1:19

Do not let unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
—EPHESIANS 4:29
