Grace Baptist Church

Grace Baptist Church A Southern Baptist Church that has been in our community for over 50 years! Sunday service starts at 10:30am. Thank you again for visiting us.

A lot has changed in our society during that time, but one thing that has not changed at Grace is the consistent, vibrant, down-to-earth preaching and teaching of the Bible, God's holy, infallible Word. May God bless and keep you in His care as you live your life for Him.

From Pastor Randy's Desk:

This weekend... the Memorial Day Holiday ... We once again remember all the men and women soldiers in our Armed Services who lost their lives fighting for our country and for the freedoms we enjoy.

Two of those are our very own: SSgt Ronald Richerson and Seaman Jeff Brown.

We should also remember that since Jesus died, resurrected, and ascended, it is estimated that 70 million Christians have lost their lives for the sake of the Gospel. Yearly, Christians are still being martyred for their faith in Jesus.

Whether you are a "soldier" or a "Christian," you have big shoes to fill. As a Christian, we are part of the greatest family on earth. We follow Christ... the One who has a name above every name. Our lives will either enhance or devalue the reputation of the One we represent. A soldier does not want to just be called a soldier ... he/she wants to Be a soldier. Likewise, a Christian should not just want to be called a Christian, we should want to Be and Act like one!

Many have died for Jesus, will you now live for Him?

From Pastor Randy's Desk:

A couple of months ago, God began dealing with my heart in the area of "global missions." During my life, I have had the blessing of being on almost 25 mission trips (7 countries, 8 states). I have always been a strong proponent of Jesus' "Great Commission" as given in Matthew 28:18-20. However, in recent years that area of my life has been dormant. As a result, GBC has not been actively involved in this area of ministry. I believe God is telling me it's time to get involved again.
Today, we welcome Brother Steve Kendall, a colleague in ministry, and a dear friend. GBC is Steve's home church. He served us well for years. I have been on a few mission trips with Steve and I can testify that he has the gift of evangelism and uses it well.
As Brother Steve speaks to us this morning, please be in much prayer as to whether we (GBC & individuals) could partner and work together in "global missions."

From Pastor Randy's Desk:

One of the best inventions that we use on a daily basis is a mirror.
Modern silvered glass mirrors were invented in 1835 by German chemist Justus von Liebig. A mirror is an object that reflects an image. Light that bounces off a mirror forms an image of whatever is in front of it. We use mirrors every day to look at ourselves ... usually when "getting ready" for our day. We also use mirrors on our cars in order to look behind us or around us. Mirrors are also used as distress signals for those who may be lost. And of course, light towers use them to signal approaching ships.. especially in foggy conditions. Whether for personal use or for use as safety devices, mirrors are truly important.

In the same regard, we (Christians/followers of Jesus) are to be
"mirrors." We are to reflect the image of Jesus to everyone we meet.
Our reflection should bring hope to those who may be in distress.
Our reflection should be pleasant to look upon. Our reflection of Jesus may be the only "Gospel message" anyone may hear or see.
So, how clear is your mirror?

From Pastor Randy's Desk:

Within the last few decades, elderly illnesses, such as dementia and Alzheimer's, have risen significantly. I believe every one of us knows someone who is suffering from these diseases. One of the main symptoms of Alzheimer's/dementia is memory loss. Oftentimes, the person even forgets their own identity. It must be very challenging and sad to forget who you are.
Yet, one of the biggest struggles among Christians is they "forget who they are in Christ." Once we are saved, the Holy Spirit of God comes into our lives and resides with us. The Bible declares that believers have been "made righteous," we are "joint-heirs with Christ," we are "declared holy," and we are "set apart" for service and worship of God. Most Christians struggle simply because they have forgotten who they are. Satan is working tirelessly to get you to forget who you are. But, if we remain strong in our walk, continue to read and study the Bible, and seek the Lord through prayer, we will not forget that we are a "new creation" in the Lord!
