Is Salvation God's or Your Choice?

Pastor Ryon talks about the heavenly and earthly perspective. On one side, Romans 10:9-10 states if we confess with our mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So, the person does make a choice to confess. Also, Ephesians 1:3-7 shows how God chose us before the foundation of the world and predestined us for adoption. So, God also chose us! As you choose to follow God you are younger and more immature Christian. As you continue to follow God you begin to understand deeper things and how God chose you. Both are a choice and God chose His elect first, but we also shouldn't be too hard on people when they say they chose to follow God.

If a person were to read Ecclesiastes, they would see a dark tone in the literature. The dark tone is not a sinful behavior, but more of a depressive behavior. The book of Ecclesiastes is written by David's son, Solomon. Solomon was known for being one of the wisest, if not the wisest person, ever known outside of Jesus Christ. Solomon starts off the book of Ecclesiastes with challenging people about the meaning in life. Solomon sees life as empty which is the meaning of the word vanity. In fact, Solomon goes to extremes to show people, "All is vanity!"
Solomon works at helping people see his point in life in many ways whether it is through family generations coming and going, the sun coming and going, the wind coming and going, the streams coming and going. Life is just seen as circle of coming and going and that there is, "Nothing new under the sun." Solomon asks the hard question, "What purpose is there in life?" There is nothing new under the sun and there is no remembrance of former or later things.
May we see the heart of Solomon this morning and may we understand that there is purpose in life. Solomon does not state the purpose in this passage, but may we eagerly wait for the truth that he will reveal. May the Lord bless this sermon.

Not All of Scripture is Encouraging!

The book of Ecclesiastes is written by Solomon who was the wisest person ever to live. With that being said, at the end of his life, he does not sugarcoat his wisdom. It can be dark. It can be depressing. At the end of it all we need to see what life is all about!

Should You Just Let Go?

Most people would tell you to just, "let go" when you have problems with people. Matthew 18:15-20 shows that if a Christian does not want to restore a relationship with problems then you are to treat them like a gentile or tax collector. Both of these responses are not positive, but it helps people to see that they should not just let go, but be concerned about their salvation.

Many people want healthy relationships but often get confused on how to handle problems when they come up. In fact, many people usually respond in reactive ways only making a relationship worse.
Today's sermon will help people understand how to handle problems when they come. These truths usually show themself in simple ways, but very few people apply them to their life. Everything from preparing the heart, going to the person, bringing other people into the problem, and knowing when to let go all need to be understood in light of a healthy relationship. May the Lord bless the people who hear this sermon and apply it to their life.

Why Is God So Important In Your Marriage?

People often are not on the same page because they do not believe in the same morals. When God is the center of your marriage it is no longer about your or your spouse. It is about what God wants in your marriage. There no longer is a focus on self, but a focus on His kingdom.

Many people are looking for love, but they are searching in the wrong places. So many times, people have been raided in a hurt home only to think that it is healthy. People take these sinful habits and incorporate them into their own marriages only to see the hurt follow to the 3-4 generation.
God gives us His holy word to help us see that marriage is not designed for what we get out of the relationship, but what we can give to the relationship. Paul helps us see that marriage takes a lot of sacrifice that is not easy. Women are called to submit to their husbands and husbands are called to love their wives as Christ died for the church.
Both people in marriage are called to live in ways that are difficult and sacrificial. May we be people who are willing to do the same so that the gospel can be presented through marriage. May the Lord bless those who hear God's Word.
