Why Do You Help People? Is It For God's Glory Or Your Own?

Many people will help people, but few people will help people for the glory of God. The truth is, only God knows the heart of why an individual helps people, but those who love God will show their fruit in giving glory to God alone.

What Does It Mean To Love Your Enemies?

Jesus helps his readers understand the end result of those who are blessed and those who are cursed. In the final judgement, there will be a separation where the blessed or saved will inherit a kingdom that is prepared for them. The cursed will inherit eternal punishment.

Jesus states whether a person is saved by the fruits of their salvation. The blessed will help the hungry, give water to the thirsty, welcome strangers, clothe the needy, visit the sick, and visit those in prison. The cursed may do this with people they agree with but will not do this with their enemies or those who curse them.

As Christians, we do not need to worry about taking vengeance. If God so chooses to deal with our enemies on earth that is God's will. No matter what, all will be judged for their deeds and end result for the blessed Christian is eternal life and the end result for the cursed unbeliever is eternal punishment.

One of the hardest tasks of a Christian is how to handle people that do not like you for one reason or another. Jesus gives us the bold truth of how we are to handle our enemies and it is not an easy truth to live out. Those who hear our Lord will understand that words like love, bless, and pray are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to treating our enemies properly. Christians are also called give, not demand items back, and do to others as you would wish. Jesus gives the harsh warning that a Christian's love has to go beyond people who treat each other well and through doing so there reward will be great in Heaven by acting merciful even as our Father is merciful. May the Lord bless this message.

The Difference Between Jesus' Harsh Words and My Words!

Pastor Ryon describes the differences between his words and Jesus' words. Although Jesus' words can be harsh it does not mean that Jesus did not love people with his words. May we be challenged to always have love behind our words.
