One of the best things from the book "Unquenchable" was when Carol Kent's husband, Gene spoke to a group of inmates. I think it's beautiful and can apply to many of our own situations: "This was not on our agenda for our lives or our son's life, and we are not ashamed to tell you that we do not apologize for our tears. But we also want you to know we have hope, because the God who was faithful to us before our son's arrest is the same God who is giving us hope for a better future---if not here on earth, then in heaven where all of us who know him personally will walk in freedom." Gene Kent from Carol Kent’s book, Unquenchable.

"Be confident in God with the totality of your heart, and do not now rest and rely on your own insight and understanding. In each and every way of yours, acknowledge and comprehend Him intimately, and He will make straight your way of life" (Prov. 3:5-6, Tom Pieper translation from the Hebrew).

Continuing with Tuesday’s prayers at Somebody’s Mother Online Prayer Support Group, we pray for Carol and Gene Kent and their son, Jason, plus all families who have a loved one incarcerated. We are praying specifically for release for Jason. We are praying for your children behind bars as well as their victims. I feel sometimes that the loved ones of prisoners are serving time, also, just in a different, painful way.

On Mondays we pray for families, your family and mine, those who need us and those who push us away. Many today are off work; we pray for those essential workers who can’t take off. Do something today to make someone else smile and you will find yourself smiling, also.

This is an old post I found in my journal but I thought someone could use it again, today:
“There is someone you care about that has been in a hard place seemingly much of their life. It has been a constant concern. You have tried talking to them, you have succeeded in getting other people talking to them. But nothing has appeared to get them into the place where blessings are being poured out on them. They seem to have a block that cannot be overcome. It affects them personally and relationally. You have prayed again and again, and your prayers have seemed to hit the ceiling. I am telling you do not stop. Don't give up. Fight the fight of faith. Continue to believe. Promises will be fulfilled.” Bev Robinson

Many prayers are going up for so many family members of friends today. We also always try to send a word of comfort to those who have lost loved ones.
Lord, send your strong father arms of comfort to those who are grieving. Please help them have strength for the day and vision for joy to come; mourning lasts long and is a slow process. May the Lord be tender in His love toward those mourning this day. We thank You that heaven has welcomed our loved ones and one day there will be a glorious day of reunion.

As I read over some personal letters and posts with prayer requests, I am amazed at all that so many of you have on your plate and have had to bear this year. Lord Jesus have mercy on my sister/friends and family. Some are grieving deeply, some are hanging on by a thread, some are pressing on in Your power. When you think about it, that's all we can do...hold on to your garment and beg for mercy. Jesus, please minister to all our loved ones today in ways that we can only dream; that they be touched and healed.

"Sometimes the best remedy for grief is finding some way to touch somebody else's life," says Dr. Larry Crabb.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory!

It’s Friday and we’ve nearly made it through what for some has seemed like a totally chaotic week with doctor’s appointments, procedures, surguries for some loved ones and fears for others.

I pray you all have a great day in the Lord. He is in the still small voice and also in the thunder. May the Lord go before each one of you and minister to your heart in the most special way today. I thank the Lord for being with me always through my journey of over 75 years. He alone, has been my strength, song, deliverer and love and to Him I give all my devotion and praise today.

Donna trivia, I love the Lord, my Bible, my family and friends with all my heart. I had my first child, Regina at 15, 21 years later gave birth to Amber and was pushing forty when I gave birth to Shiloh. I love to read, dance, serve at Word Weavers Volusia and see my grandchildren/great-grandchild; that makes me happy. I also love to go to various support groups, family groups and church.

I'm still not sure if I am walking in my true destiny but I hope to impart goodness and kindness along the way. Life has had thorns amidst the roses, but I still praise the Lord, anyway:)
I am a sister among you, and that is enough.

On the day we pray for families, we note that times have been chaotic, life has had many ups and downs. All in all, I have to keep the thought before me, THIS TOO SHALL PASS, at times. In this world we don't have much time for silence, peace and sometimes we don't even have time for friends and family. This can make me sad. Sometimes getting together with family, and friends just doesn’t work out. I find as I get older, I'm reverting to how my Mama coped with family. She was only able to really touch the ones that were right there before her or close around her. It wasn't that she didn't love everyone just as much, she just didn't have enough energy to "save the world" although I know she would've if she could’ve.

She always loved to have all her grandchildren together, but sometimes that was impossible, so she just loved the ones she was with. I feel that way sometimes but have had enough life experience to realize I can only work on myself. I can't even "fix" me let alone you, or my beautiful and loved family and friends. It's sad sometimes, yet at other times can be freeing.
So, we pray for all families, intact ones, estranged ones and those who wonder if it is ever going to get better. Will they all ever be on the same page? Putting our hope in the Lord to work miracles of healing for families, today.

Borrowing from some slogans, "I didn't create it, can't change or cure it." But a heart of love will always have wishes and hopes that things will work out for the best.

Make me useful in some way for Your kingdom, today, Lord.

Help us to see the beauty of life as it is, as acceptance is the key to peace and serenity.
Remind us that there is always enough love to go around and that there are many people in the world who would be happy with even a tenth of the blessings we take for granted. Open our eyes to the miracles around us. Make us truly grateful for life as it is, yet not forgetting to pray for Your perfect will as You see it. Open our eyes to the army of angels surrounding us, ready to surround us with protection.

We yield to Your mighty plan for our lives even when it feels like the dream that turned into a nightmare. You are seeing the heavenly tapestry of beauty while we are looking at what makes no sense at all.
Make me truly grateful for so many blessings, especially the family You have given me. Thank You, Lord for the gift of life today.

Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. Isaiah 57:1 New Living Translation
It's Saturday and I'm dedicating Saturdays to prayers for those who have lost loved ones to death.

"People don’t have any idea how very exhausting it really is for a grieving parent to function on a normal level.” Katja Faber
Grief doesn’t just affect parents, but wives, husbands and siblings, also, grief is exhausting to the whole family. When we lose a parent, no matter how old we are at the time, it hits you hard.

I also have a feeling that there is someone who has lost a loved one and they feel so alone. They are thinking thoughts that there is no one who will ever love them again and why even try to live? I say that isn't true and that the Lord will draw you closer to Him and reveal a love that is like none you have ever known before. A love that doesn't depend on outward circumstances or people. A miracle kind of love that is filled with grace and mercy. Hope will rise up again in your heart and this time, it won't be disappointing. Hang on.

Thus saith the Lord: A voice was heard on high of lamentation, of mourning, and weeping, of Rachel weeping for her children, and refusing to be comforted for them, because they are not. Jeremiah 31:15
Anita Smith once said that any parent who's lost a child will make sure their hearts are right before the Lord that they may see them again in heaven. The thing about Saturday’s prayer is there is always a family experiencing the death of a family member somewhere. Only a move of the Holy Spirit will help us today.

TGIF! So glad this week is winding down! So glad the Lord is on the move! It’s the day we pray for unspoken prayer requests. Those are the kind that are hard to share, even with our best friends. But the old song, WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS, came to my mind as I wrote this. I grew up in Flintstone, GA, or what I call Chattanooga Valley. Old hymns mean a lot to me. As I always say, find a verse or a song to hold on to when you feel like you can’t move forward.
Some people have gotten tragic news this week. Lord, hold and comfort them. Reveal Your best plan for them and their life going forward.

Another old hymn, WHERE COULD I GO BUT TO THE LORD? That has always been true in my life. Lord, help us please today providing hope and comfort where there appears to be none. We pray these things in the precious name of Jesus.

Thursdays we focus on recovery and small groups, praying that each one would find one that will help them on their journey. Churches, Celebrate Recovery, Invitation to Change, Al-Anon and AA, NA groups; any gathering or ZOOM meeting that keeps people from isolating themselves in their pain becomes a source of healing. It's a great day for recovery in the State of FL. We pray that people will come out of the darkness into His glorious light and find full recovery there.

These words from someone in recovery will pierce your heart. She said "I chose the first drink, but the rest chose me. I did NOT want to be an alcoholic. I woke up every day not wanting to drink, and I hated myself when I gave in." Anon

From TRAUMA AND THE 12 STEPS we read: “Many individuals who have recovered from addictions contend that having structure was an absolutely critical element in making this change happen.” This goes along with the idea of making a new life.

Lord Jesus, Lord of the day, go before us. Lead us, guide us, cover us, our families and loved ones. I plead the blood and ask for favor and let us be truly thankful for the abundance you have poured down on us. We in this nation are so blessed and yet we take so many things for granted. Help us to always look for ways to bless others and remember to see the beauty you have created instead of the chaos that surrounds us so often. You are beauty, grace and glory to me this day.
I pray single parents and their children and for all those who are sick, recovering, in the hospital or needing more care. I also hold up those still suffering from being in accidents and all the repercussions of that.
Adding extra prayers for my daughter, Regina, today.

From the book of Micah 7 we read:
But me, I'm not giving up.
I'm sticking around to see what God will do.
I'm waiting for God to make things right.
I'm counting on God to listen to me.
Don't, enemy, crow over me.
I'm down, but I'm not out.
I'm sitting in the dark right now,
but God is my light…. He's on my side
and is going to get me out of this.
He'll turn on the lights and show me his ways.
I'll see the whole picture and how right he is.
