OUTREACH UPDATE:
Today I had the privilege of meeting with Ruth and the wonderful volunteers at The Mission. Thank you for taking the time to show me around and share your heart for serving our community.

One of the things I appreciate most is their willingness to collaborate and work alongside other organizations to make sure resources are used wisely and people receive the help they need. Today, together, we were able to help provide clothing for an unhoused individual, and I also had the opportunity to witness The Mission serving not only lunch, but kindness, dignity, and compassion to those they serve.

If you have clothing, plastic silverware (to send with clients), fresh veggies or eggs to donate, please consider supporting The Mission. Their volunteers are making a real difference in the lives of our neighbors every day, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work together to serve our community.

*An Ode to Our Amazing Postal Carriers*

Rain or shine and street to street,
With tired legs and busy feet,
You gathered bags from every door,
Then sorted, stacked, and carried more.

Cans and cereal, soup and rice,
Given through such sacrifice.
After all that work was through,
You still delivered mail there too.

Because of you, our pantry shelves
Can help so many beyond ourselves.
Your kindness traveled house to house,
Bringing hope that the whole town felt.

So from First Christian Church, we say:
Thank you for your work that day.
You stamped out hunger one stop at a time,
With helping hands and hearts so kind. ❤️

Part of the National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive will help stock the food pantry here at First Christian Church and support local families in need.

You can help by: 📬 Leaving non-perishable food donations by your mailbox this Saturday for your mail carrier to pick up OR Dropping donations off directly at the church

This Saturday, your mailbox can make a difference.

Take part in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive with the National Association of Letter Carriers by leaving a sturdy bag of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your regular mail delivery.

Think canned soups, vegetables, meats, peanut butter, pasta, rice, and cereal. Simple items that go a long way for families in need.

In North Central Oklahoma, the United Way of North Central Oklahoma is working alongside volunteers and community partners to make sure every donation reaches local pantries and agencies that serve our neighbors.

It takes just a moment to give, but the impact lasts far longer.

United is the Way. Be part of it.

At United Way of North Central Oklahoma, we are proud to support community-driven solutions that create real opportunity.

Through the United Way Manering Grant, First Christian Church is expanding its Friendship Bikes program, a volunteer-powered effort that provides reliable transportation to individuals and youth in need.

For many in our community, transportation is a barrier to employment, healthcare, education, and essential services. A bicycle can change that. It can mean getting to work, making it to an appointment, or staying connected to school and community life.

Friendship Bikes delivers more than transportation. It delivers independence, access, and hope. 💙
