In this week's episode, Pastor Tim gives thanks for 400 episodes of this podcast, which started more than six and a half years ago. Among other things, he is aware of the fact that these episodes have reflected the lived reality of life over this time—informed by conversations, books, trips, activities here at church, and other events—rather than any prescriptive mathematical algorithm. To reinforce this point, he shares some wisdom from authors Cameron Bellm and Mary Oliver, who remind us that we are, through the particular details of our daily lives, sharing in the creative impulse of a creative and loving God, and therefore participating in something sacred and holy.

Jessica Hooten Wilson is the Fletcher Jones Chair of Great Books at Pepperdine University. She earned her Ph.D. in Religion and Literature from Baylor University, her M.A. in English from the University of Dallas, and her B.A. in Creative Writing from Pepperdine University. A devoted wife and mother of four, she is active in her church community. Dr. Hooten Wilson is the author of several acclaimed books, including Flannery O’Connor’s Why Do the Heathen Rage? Her works Giving the Devil His Due and The Scandal of Holiness received Christianity Today awards in 2018 and 2022, respectively.
