We are saddened to announce the loss of Mike Nelson, a beloved member of our congregation, a dear husband, dad, son, and brother. We are keeping Sue Ellen, their son Nate, their daughter Stacey, family, and all who loved Mike in our prayers.

A memorial celebration of this remarkable man will be held at the Plainwell First United Methodist Church, 200 Park St., Plainwell, MI 49080, on Saturday, October 31st, officiated by Rev. Amee Paparella.

A time of visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., the service at 11:00 a.m., and a luncheon following in the church lounge. All areas are fully accessible. Ample parking is available at the rear of the church, as well as street-side.

☀️ Happy Monday, Plainwell! ❤️

There’s something special about being part of a community that shows up for one another, and this past week reminded us how much that means. We want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to our local neighbors for your patience and understanding as so many family members, friends, and community members came together to say their farewells to Mr. Ken Klumpp. We are grateful for the kindness and grace you showed during such a meaningful time. Our continued prayers are with everyone grieving the loss of Mr. Ken Klumpp.

As we begin a new week together, we continue to hold close all those whose hearts are hurting. We know grief reaches far beyond one day, and many in our community, as well as our local community of Mattawan, are navigating the loss of someone they love. May we continue to surround one another with compassion, offer a helping hand when we can, and remember that no one has to walk through difficult days alone. 💙

"Gracious God, bring comfort to those who are grieving, strength to those who are weary, and hope to those who are hurting. Help us care for our neighbors with kindness and remind us that we are never alone. Amen."
