Plainfield Christian Church exists as a congregation with Jesus Christ as its head and the Word of God as its only authority. We believe in God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that, as those who are faithful to Christ, our first two commands are to love God with all that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are called to go out into the world and share the good news of Jesus with others who don't yet know Him and His saving grace.

This Sunday, we’re tackling a question many of us struggle with: How do we forgive someone who has hurt us?

Biblical forgiveness doesn't ignore the pain or pretend the wrong never happened. In fact, the phrase “forgive and forget” is not really a biblical definition of forgiveness. God does not call us to become doormats or act like everything is fine; instead, Scripture calls us to respond in ways that honor God and allow Him to heal us and bring justice. Join us this Sunday for biblically-based, practical steps to forgiveness and the healing it brings.

This summer, we’re stepping out of “kiddie pool Christianity” and into the deeper waters of faith by wrestling honestly with the hardest questions about God, life, pain, relationships, doubt, and the Bible. Whether you’re struggling, skeptical, curious, or searching for hope, this series is an invitation to bring your real questions to a God (and a church!) who is not afraid of them.

Is your faith based on what God does for you?

Jesus meets people in moments of crisis. He cares about broken marriages, hurting families, fear, sickness, loneliness, and desperation. His heart breaks when his children experience pain and suffering.

Jesus wants us to bring our pain and our worries to him. But when we ask Jesus for something, are we expecting a genie in a bottle? Or are we trusting his love and his sovereignty, and letting him give us what only he knows we need?

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

At Plainfield Christian, we want every kid to grow up knowing that Jesus loves them and that they can trust him with their lives. Different generations, same mission. 🤝

The first Houses gifts were prayed over and packed by our Babies & Houses Volunteer Team! A major goal of our All In campaign is to meet the needs of our community and we’re doing this in two specific ways: welcoming every new homeowner and every newborn in Hendricks County with a gift from God’s people.

We’re so thankful for your generosity that fuels this project, and to our volunteer team who intentionally packs and pray over these gifts!

We often misuse the word hope and think of it as a synonym of wish, but that's not the concept of hope in the Bible. Biblical hope is what you can be certain of--it's a guarantee that God will keep his promises. And that kind of hope quenches our spiritual thirst and gets us through life’ s toughest moments with meaning and purpose.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. -Hebrews 6:19
