The following is a tribute from our Founding Pastor, Jerry Keller:

We are saddened today and yet rejoicing that Betty Green has made the final journey to the Promised Land. She passed peacefully on the evening of March 5.

Many of you have known and loved Betty and have experienced the sheltering love provided by her and Harry over the decades. She was the matriarch of our congregation. She and Harry held us together in the formative years and were always at the leading edge of dreaming and believing for God’s best.

To Susan and me and our family, they were closer than most natural family relationships. They placed their hearts, lives, and arms around us when we needed them most. We owe them a great debt.

Betty taught us many things. She was an exceptional companion, mother, grandmother, prayer warrior, and friend. She had faith, even the gift of faith by the revelation of the Holy Spirit. Betty was a servant and excelled in hospitality. Even in the last season of life, when compelled by poor health to give up her home, she showed us how to do that without complaining. She determined to keep her heart and rise to the challenge before her.

At the end, she told her daughter that she did not want to leave her friends and caregivers. She had taken them into her heart, as she did us.

Early this morning I felt some of the joy which she is now engulfed in flowing down to me. That is what brought me to tears. I could hear the sounds that Betty made when happy in Jesus. Those sounds are now part of the atmosphere of the Heavenly Kingdom.

This week, we will be celebrating the life of our dear friend and sister in Christ, Arnelle Helbling, who went to be with Jesus on December 17.

Daniel and Arnelle were true pilgrims, embodying what it means to be "looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God." We're so thankful to God that He allowed us to walk with the Helblings for a little while on the journey.

Ora Nelle Burris Helbling, 80, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully December 17th, 2025 in her home, surrounded by family. She was born December 22, 1944 to Charles and Geneva Burris, who were both teachers. Ora Nelle followed in this profession, as a life-long teacher of students of all age...
