The Pleasant Valley Baptist Church was started in 1893 and has celebrated over 125 years in service. Many Pastors served well, including Reverened L. Dean who served for 46 years. Afterward, Pastor Emeritus, James C. Baker took the reigns and also served as Pastor for 46 years. He officially retired from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in November 2015 and was presented with the title of Pastor Eme

ritus. The present Pastor is Dr. Beverly M. The present Deacons are Chairman-Kerry Bolden, Royce Bolden and Tony Cross. The mother of the church is Sister Bertha Woodson. Church services are every 1st and 3rd Sundays beginning at 10:30 am and Sunday School every Sunday beginning at 10:00am.

Lord, in a world filled with fear, anxiety, and strife, we often find ourselves worrying and thinking about the turmoil surrounding us. Lord your words in "philippians 4;7 says, and the peace of God, which passetth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Lord We implore You to envelope us with your comforting embrace of peace and shield our hearts from all anxious thoughts. Please instill in us the confidence that your unfailing love, divine wisdom, and sovereign guidance will sustain us through any trials that may come our way. In Jesus name, Amen! It's easy to take credit for our own success and forget that God is the source of all blessings. We must recognize that every good thing that happens to us is due to God's grace and mercy. Those in the ministry who seek fame overspreading the truth, or those in our popular culture who in arrogance proclaim themselves larger than life with their legion of followers.
