Since then, it has been housed in three different buildings, the most recent being the current location at 313 Church St., erected in 1907. The Vienna United Methodist Church is a warm, l

👉Sermon: From Humanly Impossible To Divinely Possible
(Genesis 18 : 9-15) Standing on the edge of the humanly impossible, Abraham’s steadfast faith meets God’s promise to give him a son in his old age. Isaac’s miraculous birth is not just the answer to a personal longing, but the crucial spark that ignites a global covenant. As the firstfruits of God’s sovereign promise to Abraham, Isaac represents the gateway to the inheritance of promised lands. This promise fulfilled reminds us that God’s promises are valid, transcending our human-imposed limitations.
---
Praying for Faith
Almighty God,
you speak life into the impossible
as you keep your promises. 🏔️
Grant us the faith to trust in your sovereign word,
leaving behind our human-imposed limitations.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.🙏
---
Inspired by Genesis 22:17, this weeks art captures the breathtaking vastness of God's covenant by mirroring the infinite stars of the Milky Way onto the countless grains of sand on a quiet sea shore.

👉Sermon: “Abraham's Calling”—Trusting in God's Promise

(Genesis 12 : 1-9) Called by God from the safety of his homeland to journey into the country of Canaan. He stands as the ultimate example of faith, willing to leave behind his "known" and his family, solely on the strength of a divine promise. Through this radical obedience, a wandering nomad became the father of nations and the spiritual grandfather of a blessing that eventually reaches all of us today.
---
A Prayer of Courage
Almighty God,
you call us out of our comfort
and into paths of faith. 🏔️
Grant us the courage to leave behind our "known"
and follow, trusting solely in your promise. 🕊️
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Amen.🙏

👉 Ruth’s “worse‑than‑death” commitment keeps grabbing me — especially because I know how easy it is for people to make promises and then slip on them.

🤔 Lord knows I've had seasons in my life where I’ve broken commitments to myself, to people I love, even to Jesus. But Ruth shows us what real covenant focus looks like.

âť” Was there something in Ruth's story that stuck out to you? Drop it in the Comments below.

“Women of the Old Testament"
The Story of Ruth

Who was Ruth? (Ruth 1:4) She was a grieving widow from Moab, a pagan nation hostile to Israel, and she was facing total destitution. Left with nothing, she does the unthinkable: she abandons her homeland and trusts the unseen God of Israel by clinging to her broken mother-in-law. While bitterness gripped Naomi's heart, God used a vulnerable Gentile outsider to showcase a radically loyal, sacrificial love—turning Ruth's devotion into the very lineage of Jesus, and a timeless example of loyal love.
---
A Prayer of Devotion

Through a heart of loyal love;
she was met by the God who redeems. 🕊️
Almighty God,
Like Ruth, help us to choose the way of devotion;
meet us in our emptiness and provide the peace of Your presence.
Amen.🙏

The Widow of Zarephath's Story

Who was the widow? (1 Kings 17) She was a widowed mother, facing starvation and death. With her final handful of flour and a few drops of olive oil, she is asked to do the unthinkable: trust God’s promise and prepare it for the prophet Elijah instead.
While famine gripped the promised land, God looked to a Gentile in Zarephath to showcase a radically obedient, faithful, and trusting heart—turning her actions into an example for Israel, and a timeless blueprint for our own surrender.
---
A Prayer of Obedience

Through a heart of obedience;
she was met by the God who sustains. 🍞
Almighty God,
Like the widow, help us to know, You are with us; 🕊️
meeting us in our scarcity and providing the peace of provision.
Amen. 🙏
