Pastor's Gospel Reflection ✝

In today's Gospel (Matthew 18:15-20), Jesus gives us practical guidance for handling conflict. Rather than turning to gossip, resentment, or avoidance, He calls us to speak directly to one another with honesty and charity. The goal is not to prove who is right, but to seek understanding, healing, and reconciliation.

Jesus also reminds us that we do not live our faith alone: “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Christ is present when we come together in prayer and when we work to repair what is broken.

This week, consider: Is there a relationship in my life that needs healing or a conversation I have been avoiding? May we have the courage to speak with love, the humility to listen, and the grace to forgive.

This fall, the Catholic Church in Georgia will celebrate a truly historic moment. 🙏

On October 31, 2026, the Venerable Servants of God Pedro de Corpa and Companions - the Georgia Martyrs - will be beatified, honoring five Franciscan missionaries who gave their lives for the Catholic faith along the Georgia coast in 1597.

Their story is one of extraordinary faith, courage and sacrifice, and an important part of the history of Catholicism right here in Georgia.

🤰 Expectant moms, you can help make a difference!

Seneca, Choices for Life is seeking ultrasound model volunteers to help several new nurses gain hands-on experience as they train in sonography.

Expectant mothers who volunteer between now and October 30 will receive a complimentary 3D/4D ultrasound while helping Seneca’s clinical team strengthen their skills and training. 💕

All ultrasounds are supervised by trained staff and are performed for educational purposes.

It’s a special opportunity to get a sweet glimpse of your little one while supporting the training of nurses who will serve moms and babies in our community. 👶❤️

Bishop Parkes is inviting us to identify faithful young people who may be called to serve as future Catholic leaders, whether through priesthood, consecrated life, faithful marriage, or generous service to the Church.

Is there an unmarried young person, high school age or older, whose love for Christ and the Church may benefit from encouragement in discerning God’s call? You can encourage that person by sharing his or her name and contact information. Please complete a card in the pew August 29-30 and place it in the designated collection, or submit a name online at savannahvocations.org/calledbyname.

Those who are named will receive encouragement and opportunities from Bishop Parkes and the Vocation Office to help them listen for and respond to God's call.

Pastor's Gospel Reflection ✝

In today's Gospel (Matthew 16:13-20), Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter responds with faith: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus asks each of us that same question. It is not enough simply to know about Him - we are called to know Him, trust Him, and allow our faith to shape the way we live.

Jesus also reminds us that we do not walk this journey alone. He gave us the Church to guide, strengthen, and unite us as His people.

This week, consider how you would answer Jesus’ question: “Who do you say that I am?” May our answer be reflected not only in our words, but in our lives.

🙏 Come Spend Time With Jesus

Christ the King offers regular opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration each month:

✨ Every Friday | 10 AM–1 PM
✨ Third Wednesday | 10 AM–5 PM

We invite you to spend an hour in quiet prayer and reflection in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

If you are able to commit to an hour, please sign up on the sheet located on the board in the Narthex. Our goal is to have at least two adorers present each hour.
