Desert Southwest Conference of The United Methodist Church

Desert Southwest Conference of The United Methodist Church We are a body of believers who follow Jesus Christ. As United Methodists, we are in ministry with people of all abilities and cultures.

A part of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN), the Desert Southwest Conference defines itself as a Conference seeking the reconciliation of all people without regard to their race, socioeconomic class, or sexual orientation since 1993. We are a people of faith who hold theology as a high priority in how we live and worship, and serve God even as we acknowledge our differences. As we seek a be

tter understanding of God, we invite you to join us as we think broadly, deeply, and creatively about how God’s grace and love are working within us to bring about transformation, discipleship, and witness. God is calling us to focus on growing and becoming more vital so that our ministry of praise and prayer, compassion and caring, and mission and outreach will touch lives and transform communities for many years. We’re seeing our Annual Conference theme, “We Are the Church Together,” lived out in real ways across our Conference. This story from The Tempe Tribune highlights how Dayspring-UMC continues a long legacy of faith in action, standing with immigrants and engaging issues of justice in their community.

A Tempe church founded 60 years ago by a minister who stood against racial segregation — and paid a price for doing so — has continued calling out injustice and encouraging faith in action.
