Sunday we begin a sermon series through the Old Testament wisdom book of Ecclesiastes.

It's an often neglected book that's shockingly blunt about the challenges and confusion about life in a good but fallen world. It voices some of the uncomfortable questions that we might think but don't want to say out loud.

Does my life have any lasting significance? Is anything I do worthwhile? Will injustice just go unpunished forever? Is it ok for me to really enjoy my life? How can I, if my life is so fleeting?

When life breaks down and you don't know what to do, there's nothing like the right person showing up. That's exactly what the disciples experienced when Jesus walked into the room. His presence didn't just remove the fear, it brought comfort. 'The disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.' That same comfort is available to you today.
