The Reward Is Him ❤️

What if we stopped seeking God only for what He can do and started seeking Him simply because He is worth knowing?

We need His help. We need His provision. We need His healing. We need His direction. We need His peace. And God welcomes us when we bring those needs to Him.

But there is something deeper waiting for us in His presence.

Him.

Hebrews 11:6 NIV tells us that God “rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

Sometimes we think the reward is the answer to our prayer. The breakthrough. The provision. The open door.

But what if the greatest reward isn't what God gives us?

What if the greatest reward is God Himself?

When we seek Him, we find Him.

Jeremiah 29:13 NIV says, “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”

That's more than casually looking for God. It is bringing our whole selves toward Him. Our minds. Our hearts. Our will. Our attention. Our desires. Everything pointed toward Him.

And when we do, we discover something that circumstances cannot take away.

His presence.

There is a joy that belongs to the person who has learned to dwell there. Not because life is always easy. Not because there are never battles. But because they have found something greater than the circumstances surrounding them.

They have found Him.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 NIV, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Seek first.

Not seek Him last after everything else has been tried.

Not seek Him only when we need something.

Seek Him first.

Because when we get that order right, something begins to change in us. The promises become real. The covenant becomes unshakeable. Our identity becomes settled. And we begin to discover the deep satisfaction that can only be found in His presence.

He isn't waiting for us to need something before we come.

He is waiting for us to simply show up and stay.

So seek Him today. Seek His face. Seek His presence.

Seek Him for who He is, not just for what He can do.

The reward is Him. 🙏

Keep digging, child of God. You've got this...Because you've got Him!

Stop Visiting. Start Dwelling. 🏠

There is a difference between visiting someone's presence and dwelling in their presence.

We can become pretty good at visiting God. We visit when we need an answer. We visit when something hurts. We visit when we're afraid. We visit when we need a breakthrough.

And there is nothing wrong with bringing our needs to God. He wants us to come to Him. He is faithful to meet us in those moments. But there is an invitation to something deeper.

God isn't calling us to visit His presence when we need something. He is calling us to dwell there.

Psalm 91:1 NIV says, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

Notice that word: dwells.

Dwelling isn't an occasional visit. It is a way of living. It is choosing to remain close, to keep our hearts turned toward God, not simply running to Him when life becomes difficult.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Give us today our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11 NIV

Not weekly bread.

Not enough to get us through the month.

Daily.

There is something about God that draws us into a daily relationship with Him. Yesterday's encounter with God was real. Yesterday's time in His presence mattered. But yesterday was yesterday.

Today still needs Him.

That's why we said this Sunday that God isn't interested in efficiency. He's interested in frequency.

He wants a daily, personal, intimate relationship with us. He wants us to show up, not just when we run out of answers, but because we simply want to be with Him.

And maybe that's the shift God is inviting some of us to make.

Not, “God, I need something.”

But, “Father, I just want to be with You.”

Not visiting.

Dwelling.

Not occasionally turning toward Him.

Living face to face with Him.

And the beautiful thing is that He is always there waiting for us to turn toward Him again.

So wherever you are today, take a moment. Slow down. Turn your heart toward Him.

Don't live on yesterday's encounter. Dwell with Him today. 🙏

His Presence Is Available 🙏

There are times when God can seem far away. We pray, we worship, we open His Word, and yet there can be moments when it feels like we are reaching for Him rather than resting with Him. We can begin to wonder if somehow His presence has become distant.

But the truth is, God has not moved.

David asked, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” Psalm 139:7-8 NIV. The answer is nowhere. There is no place we can go where God is not already there. His presence is not something we have to convince Him to give us. He is near. He is available.

The question isn't whether God is present. The question is whether we are turning toward Him.

Think about electricity. The power can be flowing through the walls of a building all day long. The power is there, but there is a difference between knowing it is present and actually experiencing what that power can do. Someone has to flip the switch.

Sometimes our relationship with God can be like that. His presence is there. His Spirit lives within us. The power is there. But there is a difference between knowing He is near and intentionally turning our hearts toward Him and experiencing the reality of His presence.

Psalm 105:4 NIV says, “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.”

Always.

Not just when we need something. Not just when life gets difficult. Not just when we're desperate for an answer.

James gives us the same invitation in James 4:8 NIV: “Come near to God and He will come near to you.”

What a promise! We don't have to wait for a crisis to seek Him. We don't have to wait until we need a breakthrough. We can simply turn toward Him because we want to be with Him.

Maybe today doesn't feel urgent. Maybe nothing is falling apart. Maybe there isn't a giant standing in front of you.

Turn toward Him anyway. ❤️

Take a few moments and be with Him. Open His Word. Talk to Him. Worship Him. Let your heart become aware of the One who has been near all along.

His presence is always available. The invitation is always there.

So turn toward Him. And maybe that's where dwelling begins.

Worship Before The War

There are things God is building in you right now that nobody else can see.

David learned that in the field.

Before there was a giant, there was a shepherd. Before the battlefield, there was a field. Before anyone knew his name, David was learning to know his God.

He worshipped when nobody was watching.

He learned that the Lord was his shepherd. He learned to trust Him. He experienced God's faithfulness in the hidden battles with the lion and the bear. So when Goliath finally appeared, David was not meeting God for the first time. He was drawing from a relationship that had already been built in the field.
Maybe you feel like you're in a field right now.

Maybe it feels ordinary. Maybe it feels unnoticed. Maybe you're wondering why things aren't moving faster.

Don't despise the field.

The hidden place is not wasted time. It is where God is forming you.

Your worship when nobody is watching matters.

Your time in His presence matters.

The battles you are facing today may be preparing you for something you cannot see yet.

David's greatest public moment was built during years nobody saw.

So keep showing up. Keep seeking Him. Keep worshipping. Keep digging.

What God is building in you in the field will matter when you reach the battlefield.

And remember, worship isn't about having the best voice or the greatest ability. It's about turning your heart toward God and staying there. The Father is looking for true worshippers who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

Don't despise your field.
God is preparing you there.

A NEW WAY TO STAY CONNECTED!

As many of you know, and some of you may not, we are in a season of growth here at Word of Life Family Church. And honestly, we are incredibly thankful and excited about what God is doing!

Growth is amazing, but it also comes with some challenges. One of those challenges has been our ability to consistently livestream our services. And we know that our online church family has probably felt that the most.

So, rather than allowing that challenge to create distance, we want to find another way to keep the Word moving and keep us connected throughout the week!

We’re starting a new online outreach!

Each week, we’ll be taking a powerful thought or truth from the previous Sunday’s message and turning it into a simple, easy-to-read weekly encouragement that you can take with you throughout the week.

And this isn't just for those who missed Sunday.

Maybe you were there and something from the message really grabbed your heart. This gives you an opportunity to sit with it a little longer, think about it again, and allow that truth to settle even deeper.

Maybe you weren't there at all. This gives you an opportunity to still receive something from what God was speaking to our church family.

For some, it may spark a fresh understanding.

For others, it may reinforce something God was already speaking to you.

And for many, we hope it will simply be a healthy reminder of God’s Word that you can carry with you long after Sunday is over.

Because the message shouldn't stop when the service ends.

We want the Word to keep moving.
We want faith to keep growing.
And we want to keep walking this journey together.

So whether you've been part of Word of Life for years, you're part of our online church family, or you just found us for the very first time...

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!

We’re excited about this new opportunity to connect, encourage, and grow together.

Stay tuned. The first one is coming soon!

Many blessings from all of us at Word of Life Family Church! ❤️
