Pentecostal Church of Ford Run:
Who we are: Although just a small country church we are faithful to Gods word and filled with love and many blessings. The "Pentecostal Church of Ford Run", although Pentecostal by denomination, has been accepting and loving of all others and as the cornerstone reads; "Everyone is Welcome”. The church was founded by the late Reverend Pete and Icie Parsons in 1973 a
nd was built on land donated by Rev. Parsons where a small barn once stood. Icie would often testify to the fact that Pete had envisioned building the church after the Lord had spoken to him. She would tell of the sacrifice and the volunteer donations from others and of their perseverance despite the lack of money, help and at times ridicule from non-believers. She often stated that when she had her doubts Pete would reply, “If just two or three got saved it would be worth it all”. And indeed two or three did get salvation and because of that obedience to the Lord the church began to grow and others came in and also received Gods salvation through Jesus Christ. Originally the church was a small structure but later had to be renovated and doubled in size and even then often times folding chairs would be brought in to accommodate the large crowds that would sometimes attend during special events. The church family/congregation was originally formed by Rev. Pete Parsons, his wife Icie Parsons, friends, family and in-laws, who would often travel from home to home or Church to Church sharing Gods word by song and preaching. Through God’s blessings the church continues to flourish today. The word of God continues to be preached and taught from the pulpit and always will as long as it is God’s will. The church is currently under the direction of Geneva Mayle who is one of the daughters of the late Icie Parsons. Through song, testimony and teaching of God’s word, Luwana Kennedy, another daughter of the late Icie Parsons, also contributes to the function of the church as does her husband Jeffrey W. Solid contributing pillars of the church are always there to help out in any way that they can and the Pentecostal Church of Ford Run would like to thank those members: Elizabeth Mayle, Craig Mayle, Michael and Velma Adams, Larry Norris, Jamie Norris, Chad Kennedy, Melea and Perry Collins, Bill and Rosie Berdine, Edith Henline Mayle, Sherry McDaniel, Jeremy Norris, Mike and Bonnie Lantz, Freda Croston, David and Mary Ann Croston, Isreal and Heather Mayle, Gary and Misty Reynolds, Terry Mayle, Sabina Kennedy. What we believe: We believe Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God, who came to live among man, as a man, to become the supreme sacrifice for our sins. That Jesus was born to a virgin, died a physical death on the Cross but rose again three days later. Through his death and resurrection, we believe we have access to salvation in this life and eternal peace in Heaven once this life is over. We believe that every man and woman alive has sinned and that no amount of good works could earn favor with God. Our salvation is wholly dependent upon Jesus. We believe in baptism for those who have repented of their sins and accepted Jesus as their Savior. However salvation cannot be attained by baptism alone. We believe in love. We believe it is our duty as followers of Christ to love everyone, of every walk of life, no matter what they look like, talk like, act like, and no matter where they have been or what they have done. This was Jesus’s commandment to his disciples: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34)
