Support for this fund is one way to love our neighbors.

Last year, because of congregations like yours, Lutheran World Relief distributed more than $20 million worth of quilts and kits. Operating this life-giving delivery network costs approximately $3.3 million each year.

Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has issued his third in a series of monthly messages that continue through the end of this year, titled “All Together in One Place."

Each message will share a pastoral word, rooted in Scripture, that witnesses to God's presence today, our rich theological tradition and the social teaching that connects us.

Congratulations St. John, Melrose Park

ReconcilingWorks extends deep gratitude and joy for our partnerships through the Reconciling in Christ (RIC) program.

Beginning in 1983, the holy work of this ministry now represents 13% of ELCA and 7% of ELCIC congregations, synods, and ministries.

On Mondays through July we are celebrating all RIC Partners who became RIC in July. Below is a partial list of this month's RIC Anniversaries - and the year they became RIC - throughout the United States and Canada.

What’s your favorite hymn by one of these composers?

On July 28, the Church commemorates three remarkable musicians whose work continues to enrich Christian worship: Johann Sebastian Bach, Heinrich Schütz, and George Frideric Handel.

Through cantatas, hymns, passions, oratorios, and sacred choral works, each used music to proclaim the Gospel, strengthen the faith of believers, and inspire generations to praise God.

Their lives remind us that every gift, whether expressed through music, teaching, caregiving, advocacy, or acts of compassion, can become a witness to God's love. As deaconesses and all who serve in Christ's name know, our talents are not ends in themselves. They are gifts to be shared for the good of others and the glory of God.

"Sing to God a new song; sing God's praise in the assembly of the faithful." Psalm 149:1

May our lives become songs of hope, justice, and love.
