Today marks the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, a patron of ecology, animals, and the natural world. We also conclude the Season of Creation today, when we as Catholics acknowledge and take action in our joint efforts to care for Creation. Let us reflect on the words of St. Francis, from his "Canticle of Creatures," as we work to carry forward the movement to protect our Earth and all its inhabitants.

From October 1-7, children across the globe will pray the Rosary daily in their homes, parishes, and schools. Pope Leo XIV joins children in Rome and around the world in this joint prayer for peace. Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) organizes this annual movement of prayer, "A Million Children Praying the Rosary." The campaign is inspired by the words attributed to Saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina:

“When one million children pray the Rosary, the world will change.”

We are sharing a small part of Pope Leo XIV's message focusing on this year's theme, "Even just one of these children." You can read the full message here: https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/messages/migration/documents/20260811-world-migrants-day-2026.html

During National Migration Week, we reflect as a community on our shared history working with those who have left or fled their home country. Our Charism and Rule of Life emphasize an "ardent zeal" for the needs of the poor, spiritually neglected, and victims of injustice. In our more than 100-year history, MSBT Sisters have continually served immigrant, migrant and refugee populations with this missionary spirit.
