What a wonderful way to conclude our Summer of Gardening!

We were delighted to welcome back our favorite puppeteer, Missionary Ray Robinson, a dear friend of the Tacony Baptist family. Missionary Robinson once again captivated everyone with a joyful, fun-filled presentation featuring lively music, dancing, audience participation, and the Bible story of Noah. We even had the opportunity to march around the church together! There was plenty of laughter, smiles, and, most importantly, the chance to learn God’s Word in a memorable and engaging way.

We were also blessed to have our friends from The Children’s Place Preschool visit the garden to help prune, harvest, and enjoy the fruit of the season. It was a joy to see everyone working side by side, celebrating all that God has provided, and sharing in the abundance of His blessings.

Thank you to Tacony’s Community Development Corporation, Tacony Together, for the funds and support, and to everyone else who helped make this summer so special. We are grateful for the friendships formed, the lessons learned, and the many ways God has richly blessed our time together.

It was a wonderful day of fun, laughter, and learning as Tacony Baptist Church hosted a puppet show for the children of our neighborhood.

Missionary Ray Robinson delighted everyone with his remarkable collection of puppets representing people from around the world. The interactive program had children singing, dancing, clapping, and joining in the fun right from the aisles.

The excitement continued after the show when every child was invited to handle the puppets and create their own mini productions. What a joyful experience it was!

The summer heat sent our young gardeners indoors for a fun afternoon of crafts and snacks!

While we all hope for a little break in the weather next week, the garden is waiting with vegetables ready to harvest and new discoveries around every corner.

That’s one of the joys of gardening—there is always something new to see, learn, and do. We can’t wait to get our hands back in the soil and continue the adventure together!

Yesterday, our young friends from A Children’s Place Preschool had a wonderful time discovering the growing vegetables and blooming flowers in the garden. They enthusiastically joined in the rewarding work of gardening by weeding, pruning, watering, and removing spent blooms (“deadheading”).

After enjoying a snack together, the children visited the sanctuary, where they had the opportunity to ask the pastor many thoughtful questions about our historic church.

It was a joy to spend the day learning, exploring, and growing together. We had a wonderful time with our friends!

TBC Gardening Ministry Continues

Another wonderful day of gardening with our little friends from The Children’s Place Preschool! The children enjoyed exploring the garden, decorating rocks with prayers and messages of affirmation, and expressing their creativity.

We would also like to thank the Tacony CDC for providing the funding that makes the TBC Garden experience possible. Their support allows us to offer these meaningful experiences for the children and our community.

To conclude our time together, each child chose a special place in the garden and decorated it with messages of love and kindness. We affectionately named the space “Our Love Garden.”

It has become a beautiful place filled with colorful creations, caring hearts, and lots of love. We are thankful for the opportunity to share these special moments of learning, creativity, and connection in the garden

The Tacony Baptist Church Community Gardening Project has really taken off!

Our friends from The Children’s Place Preschool, along with neighbors and other community partners, are helping to plant, care for, and maintain the garden throughout the season.

This year, the garden has become a hands-on learning laboratory where children, youth, and adults explore gardening, environmental stewardship, nutrition, and biblical principles. Through planting, cultivating, and harvesting, participants are gaining practical skills while growing in their appreciation of God’s creation.

We are grateful for everyone who has contributed their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make this project a success.

A special thank you to the Tacony Community Development Corporation for making this opportunity possible through a subgrant that supports community growth, education, and neighborhood engagement.
