A Great Philly Cleanup Day! 🧹✨

Neighbors came together alongside Tacony Baptist Church for a day of spring cleaning, turning it into both a productive and fun experience for everyone. Even the kids got involved—grabbing brooms and pitching in! While some focused on cleaning, a small group also gave out bags of food to those in need, making the day even more meaningful.

A big thank you to everyone who participated, and a special shoutout to our friend and neighbor Erin for her support. It truly was a great day in Tacony. 💙

🌿 Philadelphia Community Cleanup Day – Join Us! 🌿

Tacony neighbors and friends, you’re invited to come together and help keep our community clean and beautiful!

📍 Meet us in the Tacony Baptist Church yard at the corner of Disston & Hegerman Sts.
🧹 Cleaning supplies will be provided (yours to keep!) — first come, first served

We’ll be focusing on:
▪️ The 6900 block of Hegerman Street
▪️ The 4700 block of Disston Street

We welcome all neighbors and volunteers from the surrounding area who would like to lend a hand. Every little bit helps, and together we can make a big difference!

Come out, meet your neighbors, and show some love to our community

Resurrection Sunday at Tacony Baptist Church was truly extraordinary!

Our day began with a powerful Sunrise Service in collaboration with the Greater Northeast Ministerium. There was something so uplifting about gathering in prayer, reading Holy Scripture, and singing sacred songs while watching the Easter morning sun rise.

Afterward, we enjoyed a wonderful pancake breakfast at the church. During that time, Missionary Ray Robinson shared a meaningful slide presentation highlighting his recent mission work in India.

We then transitioned into our 11:00 a.m. worship service and communion, which were both exhilarating and deeply impactful.

It was truly a great and blessed day at TBC!

Congratulations Rev Hubert Barnes & Star of
Hope Baptist Church ! 🎉🙏

Members of Tacony Baptist Church joined Pastor Hubert Barnes on September 14th to celebrate his 40th anniversary at Star of Hope Baptist Church. What a beautiful banquet and a fitting tribute for a faithful servant who has served the community with dedication and love for so many years.

Congratulations, Pastor Hubert Barnes, on this incredible milestone! Your years of faithful leadership and service continue to inspire many. 🎉🙏

This past Friday we had the privilege of hosting Epilepsy Foundation Eastern PA - EFEPA in partnership with the Epilepsy Foundation of America as they lead the charge for a new initiative.
Epilepsy is a cause which needs much awareness and is dear to the heart of families in our very own congregation and by extension all of us.

On Saturday, the members of Tacony Baptist Church were blessed to serve our community during our rescheduled MLK Day of Service. ❤️

Living out our church focus, “Tacony Baptist Church: God’s Lifeline to the Community,” we divided into three teams—cleaning our streets, distributing groceries, and providing coats and blankets to help families prepare for the winter storm that followed.

With the support of Nutritional Development Services (NDS), Community Life Improvement Program (CLIP), Shepherds House Ministries International, and our faithful church members, we were able to serve well over 50 families. We heard testimonies of gratitude, shared prayers, and offered comfort and encouragement.

We are also thankful for the ongoing support and generous contributions of Councilmember Mike Driscoll and his office, Representative Pat Gallagher, and Fink’s Hoagies - toward this and many other community efforts.

Our hearts were full as God used us to meet real needs and show His love in our community. 🙏

NEED FOOD FOR THE UPCOMING SNOWSTORM?

As we prepare for the upcoming snowstorm, Tacony Baptist Church wants to support neighbors who may be facing food insecurity. We will be giving away free bags of food on Saturday from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM at Tacony Baptist Church, 4715 Disston St., Philadelphia, PA 19135. This food distribution is intended for individuals and families who need assistance preparing for the storm. If this applies to you or someone you know, please stop by—we are here to help keep our community safe and nourished.
