At yesterday's service, this week's worship leader Kevin Raye recalled photos that Rev. Roland Chaffey took of the congregation one Sunday evening 60 years ago. So he took photos of this week's congregation. Several people asked to see the ones Rev. Chaffey took, so here they are side-by-side -- nearly six decades apart.

This week's worship service, led by Kevin Raye, celebrated God's gift of laughter, and how much it adds to our lives, contributes to our emotional and physical health, and enriches our faith journey. Lots of laughter rang out during the service as well as the coffee fellowship that followed. And today was a special day with the youngest person in attendance serving for the first time as a acolyte taking the offering. Great job, Bentley!!

Pastor Penney provided the message and Mason was our reader today, with Grandma Sarah at the ready to help with any tongue-twisters. We’re collecting condiments for the Eastport Labor of Love Food Pantry this month. And Nick and Cynthia were the clean-up crew after fellowship!

Along with Pastor Sharon Grant, several church members attended a meeting of the Perry Volunteer Fire Dept. Tuesday evening to present the Department with a $1,000 gift from the church. The gift was made possible with the support of the Dyment Fund which helps United Methodist churches in Washington, Hancock, Waldo and Knox Counties with community outreach, non-profit partnerships, and ministry development. Members of the North Perry Church voted to use its Dyment funding to support the Fire Department. Church members expressed gratitude and shared personal stories of the positive impact the Department has had in their lives over the years.
