Holy Week recap part three: Easter!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭

What a joy to celebrate Easter Sunday together! Easter signifies Jesus’ victory over death and all evil, and the promise of salvation given to all who believe. The message of Easter provides a foundation for our faith that will never change or fail. Thank you Jesus for the gift of new life and the promise of eternity through your resurrection!

We enjoyed Easter together through a wonderful breakfast, kids egg hunt, worship service, and lots of fun photos!

Holy Week Recap part two: Good Friday

“He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭5‬-‭6‬

The Friday of Holy Week, we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us through His death on the cross. This year our students and worship team came together to tell the story of Holy Week and create a space of reflection and praise. Good Friday is a reminder of the indescribable love of God, and gives us a lasting hope because even death is not the end.

Holy Week recap part one: Seder Dinner

When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭14‬-‭20‬

Thursday of Holy Week remembers Jesus’ final Passover meal with the 12 disciples. In remembrance, we held a Seder dinner which included elements from a traditional Passover combined with new meanings through the fulfillment of Jesus’ new covenant. We remember the significance of the last supper and new symbols Jesus gave us to signify salvation through His sacrifice.
