We don’t need to be disappointed about doors being closed to us. God wants to open new doors for us. Jesus says, “I say to you: ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open to you.” (Luke 11:9)

Thought for the Day – September 7, 2026
Gandhi (1869-1948) taught about love and nonviolence – that nonviolence is refraining from the inner violence in our hearts. Jesus also taught that we are to practice love toward all people even our oppressors – as a way to God.

Scripture tells us to love our neighbors. As followers of Jesus, we are commanded to pray for those who hate us and those who persecute us. If Jesus could pray for people who tortured him to death, we can also pray to forgive and love those we feel are our enemies.
