One of the things we love about Upward Sports is that it’s about so much more than a game.
At practice this week, one of our coaches, Scott, gathered his team in the huddle and took them all the way back to the Garden of Eden. He talked about Adam and Eve’s sin, the brokenness that followed, and how God didn’t simply walk away. From the very beginning, God had a plan—a plan that ultimately pointed to Jesus Christ, who came to save sinners.
It was a simple moment on a football field, but it was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
Every week, volunteers are giving their time to coach, encourage, teach, and invest in kids from our community. And every week, because of the faithful generosity of our church family, we’re able to provide ministries like Upward where relationships are built and the gospel is shared.
So to everyone who gives, serves, coaches, organizes, prays, or helps behind the scenes—thank you.
Your faithfulness is making ministry possible. You may not always get to sit in the huddle and hear it for yourself, but your generosity is helping create moments where the next generation hears the good news of Jesus.
