The Power of Small Group Discipleship
Reading: Acts 2:42-47 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Devotional: The early church didn't just gather for large worship services; they devoted themselves to fellowship, breaking bread in homes, and sharing life together. This pattern reveals God's design for spiritual growth through authentic community. In small groups, we move beyond superficial relationships to genuine discipleship where others know our struggles, celebrate our victories, and speak truth into our lives. Here we learn to pray, study Scripture together, and model Christianity for one another. Parents, your children are watching how you live out your faith in everyday moments—Christianity is more caught than taught. If you're not connected to a small group, you're missing a vital component of spiritual health. Don't blend into the background at church. Step into community where you can be known, supported, and challenged to grow deeper in Christ.
