It’s with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our dear friend Karen Roberts. We first met Karen at the Christian Church of Slidell, LA. She later not only worshipped with us at Pearlington Christian Church, but also faithfully served as our treasurer/secretary for several years. We will always remember Karen with fondness and know she is resting with our Lord.

18 years ago, after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, IDES quickly mobilized to help. Through the Christian Church of Slidell, LA, we were able to establish a base that served Pearlington, Mississippi-- an area devastated by the high winds and horrific flooding. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our churches and individual donors, IDES built 36 new homes, restored several others, and planted a New Testament Church that is still serving the community today. Over 4,000 volunteers came and helped with the project that lasted until April, 2009.

When an individual gives to a project such as hurricane in Florida, wells in Kenya, winter relief in Afghanistan, Typhoon Rai in the Philippines, or any one of the many works going on around the world, every dollar goes directly to providing aid for that need. No overhead is taken out!

Every year, these centers provide over $270 million in FREE resources such as formula, diapers, wipes, STD tests, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and much more! There are also over 400 maternity homes in the U.S. where soon-to-be mom and her unborn baby can live up to 2yrs!
