April 24th – U-Turn for Christ Friday Night Service
There was a sweet sense of anticipation in the room as Pastor Joe opened the evening with an introduction to the book of Colossians. Moving forward, he will be walking through it chapter by chapter, verse by verse, inviting us to really slow down and take in the fullness of God’s Word.
The introduction was powerful in its simplicity—reminding us that Jesus Christ is above all things… supreme, preeminent, and completely sufficient. That He is the visible image of God, the Creator and sustainer of all we see and all we don’t. A beautiful reminder that in Him, we lack nothing—no added rituals, no striving, just the completeness we already have in Christ.
The night carried on with so many little moments that made it extra special. We got to celebrate Tammy’s birthday together—she finally took a well-deserved break from cooking, playfully blaming it on her recent broken ankle. There was plenty of laughter and love surrounding her, just as it should be.
John and Sandra arrived, their faces said it all—beaming with that unmistakable pride and love that only grandparents can carry. What a precious blessing for their entire family, sharing the wonderful news again, from the week prior, of Hazel’s arrival & how happy Katie & Ricardo are to have their precious little girl in their arms!
And once again, Jo poured her heart into serving everyone by preparing an incredible chicken parmigiana. Alongside it came an outpouring of love through dishes others brought—salads, Alfredo broccoli pasta, potato salad, and more desserts than anyone could possibly need. Every plate, every bite, felt like a small expression of care and fellowship.
It was more than just a service… it was a gathering filled with love, laughter, and the presence of God. A reminder that this isn’t just a place we come to—it’s a family we belong to. What a truly blessed and beautiful evening.
